“Beautiful Resort. We had a great time.”

We stayed here for a long weekend in August. The rooms were great. Clean, spacious and very quiet with a lot of amenities. We had a two bedroom unit and it was perfect for our family of four. The grounds were really well kept and it is such a beautiful location. We enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pools with our kids and the kids also enjoyed the game room. The lobby was really neat and the staff was really helpful, accommodating and welcoming. We also enjoyed dinner at the pub across the street and there was a great musician in the outdoor area that made the meal really fun. We didn't have a chance to use the spa but another guest told us she really enjoyed the services. We took a look at the prices for the spa and they seemed reasonable and the facilities looked really nice, we just ran out of time. I would definitely stay here again. We are going to make reservations now for a stay in October so that we can take advantage of the spa and we'll be back with the kids in the winter for skiing at the mountain.

Mt Sunapee is a beautiful place so don't miss the lake but find other accomodations!
We were there for the Annual Craftmen's fair which is another must see in Sunapee.
The guys working that night were slimy (i believe one was the manager) If I wasn't so tired I would have turned around.We were told that they had a special price for the fair and that it included tickets,a possible shuttle and a boxed lunch. They would not give me the price until they showed us the huge room.I asked again for the price which he said it was 140.00. The hotel accross the street was 120.00 so with the aditional tickets it came out even and we were there and tired.
Don't ever stay in the first room to the right of the bar.The airconditioner was so loud that we could not sleep, even with ear plugs and two pillows over our heads. the two settings were heat or Cold ,we could not turn it off. We just laughed at the good deal we were getting.
In the morning a very nice women at the front desk informed us that we had to go accross the street for breakfast which was accross the highway and very crowded. of course when we went back to our hotel they knew nothing about a shuttle or a boxed lunch. Unfortunately I didn't have my glasses on when I checked out and thought that I saw 160.00. I figured that the additional was tax.But when I finally checked the total was 197.58. What a waste

The management and staff of Mountain Edge Resort & Spa deeply regret any guest experience that did not meet the guests’ expectations. With regard to the billing discrepancy, we certainly would have reviewed and made adjustments immediately. We have no record of this guest requesting an adjustment only a signed registration card with the rate clearly stated at the top. We take pride in our attention to resolving maintenance issues as soon as possible, our records indicate that the air handling unit for that room was served for a loud knock after being reported by our housekeeping team the day of the guests check out. We're a big fan of the Craftsmen's Fair; as major supporters of the Craftsmen's Fair week and provide package pricing for fair goers. Our 2011 fair package included one night stay in a den suite, two breakfast tokens, two box lunches and two fair tickets. The package was very popular, however we do understand that it is not an ideal situation to ask guests to travel across a street to attend a continental breakfast in another building and will provide onsite breakfast service in the future. Although we do have a shuttle bus, shuttle service was not a component of this package: we apologize for the miscommunication. The subject of “slimy” staff members is troubling. Our nightly rates are transparent to all customers, online or in person. We have high regard for our staff integrity, and have reviewed this charge with our Front Desk staff. It is a unique charge, and after review, we believe it would be better characterized as a shared miscommunication; we will endeavor to be very clear with all future communication of nightly rates.

We tried this place out because we thought we had got a great deal from buywithme.com. It turned out that it was a bad mistake for the following reasons.

1. Rude front desk staff - every time I had a question, i felt the staff was quite rude. It's all about attitude that makes you feel bad, specially in a resort setting
2. Wrong charges - they did not honor e deal I had and did not provide breakfast that was supposed to be a part of the buywithme deal. I didn't really mind, but felt terrible for friends whom I had convinced to come. Also, they wrinkly charged a couple items which I had to talked to the manager to take off. It took 30 minutes and I dint get any apologies.
3. Dirty amenities - dishes and coffeemaker were actually not in usable condition.
4. Location- the lodge is right in front of a highway and is noisy and unsafe
5. No Internet in the room.

For those reasons, I would not return here even if it were free!

We are sorry that the guest did not enjoy their stay at the Mountain Edge Resort & Spa. We have had a great response to "Buy With Me" promotions for stays here, with most guests very happy with their experience and the value included within. The packages are sold to the guests through the Buy With Me website, include 2 nights of lodging, with credit toward onsite purchases; all the guest pays for is NH tax and any onsite purchases beyond their credit balance. Somehow, this fact was not communicated properly to the guest in the purchase process with BWM, despite our repeated attempts to clarify otherwise, the guest believed we were charging him twice. Our staff are specially trained to handle difficult situations, and treated the guest with the utmost respect, despite the reviewer's perception.
Admittedly, our wifi signal isn't great near the room the guest stayed in, and we are currently working on improving that service. Each of our rooms do include a wired Ethernet connection, our front desk offered to bring a cable, but was refused. We must also concede that, like many hotels throughout the world, we are indeed located near a somewhat well traveled highway, in New Hampshire terms for a town of 1400 people (it is paved, however). Only 4 acres of lawn and a 50' of elevation separate us from this throughway, we do advise our guests to keep their frisbee golf, wiffleball and football games well away from the traffic.
We responded promptly to each of the guest's numerous requests for service. Quite frankly, I'm not sure there was anything we could have done to please this guest, except a complete refund...which really seemed to be the intent from check in. Too bad that some use this website for malicious and defamatory purposes and as a tool to bully hotel operators.

This lodge is an ersatz ski lodge. From check-in, where we needed to sign a pledge not to smoke n the room, t the room itself, where upon check-in we found an ashtray full of cigarette butts on the "balcony." The sliding doors to this two-foot wide ledge had no screens (during black fly season in NH!). The upstairs bedroom had no windows, and it was stifling. It turns out that only the front desk could adjust the AC in the room--we had no control whatsoever. What an absurd situation! The room was plastic, but it did have a nice kitchenette, replete with pots, plates, cutlery, and glassware. Thus, we were able to enjoy a glass of wine as we looked out at the parking lot and dumpsters.

The management and staff at Mountain Edge Resort & Spa wish to express our regret that the guest experienced less than an ideal stay. Our housekeeping staff takes great pride in providing very clean, well stocked and maintained interiors and are deeply apologetic that we missed the ashtray while preparing the suite. While not a typical occurance, we will review our inspection procedure to ensure that such oversights are not repeated. With regard to our modern computer controlled heating and air conditioning system, we understand that the controls within the suites are not what is usually seen at hotels, and we will strive to better inform our guests as to the operation and control of the room temperature within the unit. Proper control eliminates the need to open windows and doors, conserving energy and precious resources, so we'll find and implement ways to better inform our guests.
Although we did not have the opportunity to address the guest's concerns while they were here, we do hope that the guest will contact us so that we can offer a package to return to Mountain Edge Resort & Spa and provide a stay that meets and exceeds their expectations.

Went to NH for a one night stay and at the last minute booked this hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised with the one bedroom suite. It was very clean and spacious. The area is beautiful and quiet. Lake Sunapee State Park was a short ride away and has lots of space to swim and sunbathe.
The only drawback was the limited choice for food in the area.

This is probably a good resort if you want to take a winter vacation. We went over the summer to take advantage of a special rate offered Sun.-Thurs. Do not do this. Many services and business have little or no service hours available. As it is, this place is pretty far out so reducing your choices by what is already available puts this place at a major disadvantage. Be prepared to know the following information if you are choosing their resort package which includes free breakfast, free drink tokens and resort money; Breakfast is served from 6-10am and you will have to cross the street to the Best Western. The one time we did go there which was @9:45 the staff was overwhelmed with guests and there was no juice, coffee muffins, bread, pastries, fruit, milk, yogurt…well I think you get the idea, basically there was no breakfast at their breakfast. The drinks are only available at Digby's Restaurant which is also across the street. Your resort money cannot go far if you think you're going to shop at their general store which is a downhill/uphill climb to/from the resort. Your only hope of using your resort money will be at their spa or their restaurant (Digby’s). I can’t speak about the spa service but the food at Digby’s is average at best but the waitstaff is great. The indoor pool was pretty dirty so we only used the outdoor pool. Rooms are decent in size and cleanliness. There is a nearby lake with a small sandy beach area, playground, picnic tables, grills, bathrooms and a store which was nice. Overall an experience I am happy to do only once.

We took advantage of a Groupon deal and made a long weekend trip to NH with the Kids (two boys age 5 and 3). The resort was clean. Room was huge. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I am not sure I would want to pay full rack rate for the resort, but on special it was a fantastic deal. The breakfast provided across the street was uneventful and not really worth the walk. However, you can get to the beach at Sunapee State Park by walking through the parking lot and down the snowmobile trail.

The room was just as expected. It was a clean two bedroom unit. It was great to have a full kitchen when traveling with the kids. The only issues with the room was were: it was a little warm and you could not adjust the temperature; we could not get the DVD player to play on the TV since the remote was not programmed for the TV; and we could not get the gas-fireplace to work (not an issue since it was warm anyway). We did not ask for assistance on any issue as it did not affect our stay.

The on-site Tavern is just that, a bar that serves food. The tables are all countertop height, so any highchair would be too low and a booster seat was not available. The kids menu in the room did not match the menu in the Tavern, but they were able to accommodate our requests. The waiter had to search for paper coffee cups with lids for "kid cups'.

My wife reported that the spa was very nice and friendly and that the spa technician was very professional and easy to deal with. She would go again if we stayed there.

The pools are nice; the boys loved being able to swim indoors when it was raining and outdoors when it was sunny. We could not get the "lap pool" to turn on, but again we did not ask for assistance.

Overall, we would (will) stay here again. The area is very family friendly. There are many things to do or not do depending on your idea of vacation.
