While visiting our son who is a college student nearby, we chose this quaint hotel -- very clean with nice staff. We enjoyed our breakfast (included in room rate) in the restaurant -- the food was excellent and our waitress was great.

This Inn was very quaint and the food and hospitality was spectacular. We overlooked the back of the Inn and the foliage was beautiful. I am looking forward to heading back for a weekend in the spring.

We had an indifferent girl at the counter. The room was okay, although the bed was not very comfortable: if you turn around, the whole mattress made waves and squeaks. The shower was not very strong.
For the breakfast: everything appeared to be stylish, we got an elegant menu card. However, the food was not that great. first they forgot the bacon even though we explicitly ordered bacon, when it came, it almost crumbled and left some dust, the orange juice was not fresh, the potatoes not fully well baked and there were black parts all over. Location was fine, but for the price and the appearance we expected more.

My (adult) daughter and I enjoyed our stay - our room was comfortable. We liked that the Inn is in the center of town so that you can take a walk and survey the entire area, visiting the other businesses there. We enjoyed a nightcap in the pub. Breakfast was delightful. We would stay again.

We had a very nice stay at the New London Inn for a weekend. Our room was spacious, overlooking the back garden and courtyard. A hot breakfast was included with our rate and it was delicious, served in the charming dining room. This hotel is in the middle of everything (in a good way), and New London is a charming and relatively quiet town. Just down the street is Colby Sawyer College. We would stay here again if we returned to New London.

There's a cute small bar, and based on the breakfast, I would try eating dinner there. There are also multiple sitting places in the downstairs living room and 2nd floor veranda.

Over the past two weekends, my family stayed 5 nights. The NLI staff was very accommodating and the breakfast that was included in the room rate was terrific. I think the total bill for rooms was more than $1,500 as we had multiple rooms during a family reunion. The cost was well worth the experience. Local resident using the Inn for family overflow. We also eat often in the restaurant and attend charity functions there. Nice job done by all.

Room Tip: For light sleepers rear rooms a better, although Main Street rooms are not noisy.

We came here on a real estate expedition to the New London/Lake Sunapee area, the inn having been recommended by our realtor, and we were absolutely impressed by the service, friendliness, and quality of the place. And it is pet friendly, so our "son" Tango made himself at home here and was welcomed by the absolutely wonderful staff.

I love historical places to stay, particularly in New England. The New London Inn was already a business in this post-card gorgeous little town even before Dolly Madison was measuring curtains for the new White House in Washington DC. Although I can only begin to imagine the infrastructure and maintenance needs of this venerable and beautiful place, the owner and staff keep the premises in immaculate condition. The place does lack an elevator, although I was told that is in the planning works. Having lived myself in a historical structure and having to deal with historical and architectural commissions, I wish the management the absolute best in the myriad of bureaucratic mazes to be navigated to finish making this a most delightful lodging premise.

The first impression about the place is left by the staff. EVERYONE who works here exemplifies customer support, a friendly attitude and a sincere desire to help. We arrived in the wee hours of the morning after the front desk was closed for the evening, but that didn't stop the management from leaving an envelope with their apologies and the keys. The next morning we assembled ourselves, walked our pup in the expansive New London Common, and had a most wonderful breakfast. The gloomy weather was more than made up by the succulent food. They have the best Maple bacon I've had and they even gave us a little extra egg for our pup, as we had forgot his wet food cans.

Our room was a bit small (124) although it was complete. The Inn features several WiFi hotspots to ensure proper reception throughout the expansive property. And although my partner commented that the bedding was soft, I thought it was comfortable. The Inn's safety features include a full fire alarm and suppression system, which is admirable and needed in a place of this vintage, so we felt absolutely safe and at home.

We had a dinner at the Coach Restaurant downstairs, which turned out to be a memorable evening. Dinner was first-rate throughout.

Overall, a superb weekend in a top-notch New England historical hotel.
