My family spent what seems to have become our annual winter weekend (two nights) at the Wentworth and enjoyed it as much as we have since first staying there five years ago. The wintry views from our third floor, west-facing corner room were lovely, especially lying on a comfortable bed watching the sun go down. The room was quiet.
The Roosevelt Lounge has been redone since our last visit. It formerly had a pub-like feel and menu; it is now more sleek and the menu has been updated to match. The weather was very cold (below zero) and we opted to "eat in" both evenings. Our selections were flavorful and satisfying (I found the risotto a bit salty for my personal taste and noted that the chicken in my pasta dish was cubed rather than shredded...oh, dear!) Although I prefer the Lounge's previous incarnation, I can see that the remodeling accommodates more people at a long, modern bar and moves guests more smoothly into the dining room, which is now visible from the Lounge.
Although slightly more expensive than a year ago, the weekend breakfast buffet continues to offer a wide selection at a reasonable price.
I suspect that we'll return again one winter weekend...More
