“a wonderful weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 13, 2011

My wife and I spent 2 days at this wonderful hotel in June. An excellent Hotel, well run and a beautiful place to stay. Room was large with three windows , so was very sunny. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. Entire property was very well maintained and beautiful. We ate dinner and breakfast at the main dining room , food was very good on both occasions. Also ate at their restaurant across the street at the mariner, food was excellent, the lobster roll was the best I've had in New England. We could find nothing to complain about, this is a really nice place to spend some downtime. Indoor pool and hottub very clean as was the outside pool area. A bit pricey but well worth the price, not your ordinary hotel. We enjoyed our stay here.

I took my wife here for her birthday. i reserved the "Romance Package" which included a king room, dinner, breakfast, champagne & chocolate covered strwaberries. From the moment we entered the Hotel we were greeted with nice friendly people, when I locked my keys in the car they were right there to assist. Shortly after we checked in there was a kock on the door and we were delivered a bottle of chilled champagne and chocolate covered stawberries. everything was awesome from the heated bathroom floors to the dinner and service. the morning breakfast was great and consisted of an omlettte making station, as well as effs sausage bacon, muffins etc. Even as we were checking out everyone was helpful & friendly.
This is a place to go to more then once in your life.

We recently stayed at the Wentworth by the Sea during our family vacation in May/June 2011. Emily, the manager, showed us excellent customer service. We were upgraded to a wonderful room on the corner with windows that revealed a picturesque view of the sea. The bathroom had radiant flooring which I found especially inviting. The beds were very comfortable, especially after a week long trip in an RV! The workout room was equipped with high quality elipticals and treadmills, along with free weight equipment. They offer complimentary hot tea and coffee in the mornings. The Latitudes Restaurant adjacent to the hotel is worth going to while there. Highly recommend for a romantic retreat or family trip.

My third trip to the Wentworth for a marketing conference. Treated by the staff like a king. Great rooms, terrific facilities, and some really nice single malts in the piano bar. I can't say enough great things about the place.

I attended a conference at this hotel and had a great time. The room was spotless and very quiet. My room had a great view of a garden and the ocean. The bed was comfy and clean with 4 pillows for added comfort. The hotel has coffee bar set up in the morning and the grounds are fab . There is a pool outdoors. And also an indoor pool with an exercise room. It is in a beautiful area with lots to see and shopping in town , places to eat etc. Evenings in the bar was fun with a good wine and drink selection. And a piano player to enjoy in the bar.The only negative was no wireless in the rooms. The staff was great and available. I would return again to this Hotel with all the beauty of the NH seacoast.

We booked a Sat night for a get a way. We reserved a waterview room with a King bed(thay don't have Queens). Upon check in they told us our room was ready, but t had two they only had two doubles & they can't guarentee we will get our choice of beds They did have a room with a King, but no waterview...what's the point of a romantic getaway if you are sleeeping in seperate beds? We took the King, without the view, but they did not give us a credit for the downgrade. The room was beautifull, spacious with window that opened to a view of the parking lot unfortunately. We started at the Roosevelts pub and where very dissapointed with the food was terrible. The calamari was rubbery, the tuna appetizer bland ( and I love sushi) and the crabcake tasted like plastic. Even my white russian was watery...we switched to wine, Kendal Jackson Cab was decent. We then went to the Marina resteraunt for a drink on the deck while we waited for our 8p dinner reservations in the main lobby. We could not drink on the deck as it was only for customers who where ordering a full meal. We where aloud to bring our wine out on the dock and watched as no one filled up the talbles on the upper deck. Views fo the Marina where nice, but no open ocean view. Our 8pm dinner was Okay. The service was slow. We waited 45 min(and that was only after we asked) after ordering for a rare steak and sea scallops, that where Okay. For the amount of $$$ I expect to be wowed or at least say "mmm" this is good, could have cooked better at home. After dinner we hit the indoor pool & hot tub which where great, clean, with lots of towels and not too crowded.
We had room service in the morning and the sourdough breakfast sandwhich & frenchtoast where amazing. We then had massages at the spa. My massouse Cheryl was excellent, got the kinks out of my neck. The spa itself is a little small with only 2 showers in the ladies locker room. Over all a very pretty hotel, with good breakfast,( would go out to dinner in Portsmouth) but not really worth the price, they need to work on servce and food.

Arrive at 3pm, and were checked in and in the pool by 4. Totally blissed out ...

Ambiance is that of an old-fashioned gracious sea-side resort without, as others have observed, any of the stuffiness or shabbiness one might anticipate.

Room: indeed small, but beautifully decorated and perfectly equipped. Marvelous Marriott quality bedding, robes, etc. Pretty drapes, shades and upholstery.

STUNNING view across harbor and ocean from the 4th floor. Operable windows allow in the sea breeze.

Bathroom: sparkling, spotless, and very pretty in marble and glass. Lovely large shower, no bathtub.

We did not eat in the restaurant, instead opting for the 7-minute drive into Portsmouth center, but the main dining room is certainly gorgeous. Another restaurant, below the pool, looks out over the marina and has ample outdoor seating.

Pool: heated (a good thing this early in the season) and a very nice size, allowing for we adults to swim little laps while children played. Large, high quality towels, very nice loungers, and umbrellas. I think it must be salt water pool -- no scent of chlorine.

We did not use the indoor pools, but we did check them out and I will say the smell of chlorine was OVERWHELMINGLY strong. Perhaps this was because we were there at the close of a busy weekend with lots of children, but the smell made us want to run away from these areas.

Room Tip: High floor! You get a better view.
