“A home away from home”
Reviewed September 17, 2012

Last weekend I had the pleasure of staying at the inn while attending a friends wedding. It's too bad we only had 1 night as it truly was a home away from home. It was my 1st time staying at a B&B, not sure if they will all be like this but I certainly hope so.

We stayed two nights with our 3 daughters. It was a lot of fun. The girls enjoyed feeding the goats and the chickens, picking berries, walking between the apple trees, swimming in the river.
The breakfast was delicious with fresh eggs, fresh herbs,... The rooms are tastefully decorated and are very cosy.

It is very difficult to find places in this part of New England that aren't rather twee and over the top. This place is lovely but you won't be bombarded with quilts and pot pourri. It's been done beautifully with lots of linen, battered arm chairs and wood. Check the pictures on their website - it's even lovelier than it looks. Gorgeous grounds too and a superb breakfast of French toast and bacon with lovely local fruits and granola. Staff are very helpful and warm but also leave you to yourselves. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful, but the bigger ones are that bit nicer.

Hard to find a really comfortable B&B, one where it feels like home, but you are still being taken care of....Olde Orchard Inn is it!! I just loved it. Rooms are so lovely, clean, comfortable, all the amenities, breakfast was delicious, and innkeepers couldn't be nicer. Highly recommend.

My daughter and I spent three nights at the inn. We are not from this part of the country, so we had no idea what to expect. We were surprised by the size of the property, which is quite large but nonetheless comfortable and quaint. There are plenty of things to do since they have a big barn with goats, rabbits and chickens. They also have a stream and, surprise surprise - an apple orchard. The inn itself dates to the late eighteenth century, but all of the rooms have recently been refurbished quite nicely without detracting from the New England style. There are three dining areas within the inn, as well as a large sitting room, all of which provides a great atmosphere. The staff are pleasant and professional, and they don't hover excessively. The location, while it is in the country, is surprisingly close to lots of local activities such as swimming in summer and skiiing in winter. All in all, a great inn that we will definitely visit again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at the Olde Orchard Inn. The room was delightful and well appointed, the breakfasts were both excellent and healthy and the staff was both helpful and friendly.

Very relaxing place. Rooms are immaculate, food is incredible. In the evening I offhandedly mentioned that my son liked simple foods, and in the morning his breakfast came as if it was made to order. He also got to feed the goats and collect an egg - priceless. They also did a phenomenal job balancing couples and families - having a separate room for breakfast was very helpful.

A restaurant (The Woodshed) is across the road - it's a bit fancy for those with young kids though. Our room got a little hot at night but it was our fault - if we had left the AC running it would have been fine (eco mode was a bad idea). Overall a wonderful experience - will try to come back to the area just so we can stay here again.

Room Tip: Northern Spy is great for families.
