We visited as a group of six. We called for a 7:00 reservation, asked to accept 7:15 instead, did, and were seated promptly on arrival. The hostess was very friendly and cheerful. We were seated at a round table for six, which was much better for conversation than would have been a rectangular table. Overall this is a good restaurant. It had a prior life with the same name, closed for a time and had re-opened, perhaps with new ownership.
I will first describe the food and then the service. We started with some starters, one had a beet chevre salad, which was fresh and plenty of cheese, one has California rolls, which were quite good. Another had 3 raw fishes and really loved it. The entrees provide mixed reviews. Two in our party had Mojo Free Range Duck - which was slow cooked and very tender, with a crispy skin. This came with a rather heavy dark sauce (which on our opinion was too heavy for the duck), which in retrospect we should have asked for on the side. Another had Ahi Tuna, asked for rare, and was very happy that it came just to his liking. Another had pan-seared haddock, which came with shallots, ginger, basil and capers and a rather light vegetable fried rice. This was thought to be a rather unusual way to present haddock, but was enjoyable with the flavors nicely integrated. Another had Seafood Carbonara - a combination of crab, shrimp and scallops with wok vegetables and glass noodles. The one who ordered it found it delightful. A final dish was a wok special, that also had a combination of seafood in it. The food was quite good and all were satisfied, but those who had duck found it to be overdone - one drumstick was very dry and had little meat that was useful, the other was just fine.
The service was friendly, but the server made several mistakes. So, we were served an appetizer that we did not order. We pointed it out and the hostess (who delivered it) simply said was could have it at no cost. The server returned and we told her that this had come by accident and she told us we could send it back or pay for it if we liked. We noted that we had actually tried a bit of it because we had been told it was gratis. At the very end of the meal the server showed up with two additional appetizers, which we had not ordered. We pointed that out and back they went. So, we took this as evidence of a rather inexperienced server.
So, overall, this is a rather good restaurant and we will return.
