Myself and a companion recently went to the Merrimack, NH Common Man Restaurant for dinner. The server was diligent in taking our beverage order and returned to ask if the drinks were satisfactory.

The menu is large enough to offer a good variety but not so large as to be confusing. Our server was well prepared to answer our questions and make a recommendation which was greatly appreciated. Our food was delivered in a timely manner and cooked to our complete satisfaction.

I have been to other Common Man's in NH and the Merrimack location is equal or above the others. I will be returning to this location.

Easy access, good parking. The building has a long history of serving people. I have been here a number of times, with essentially the same experience each time. There are a number of small serving areas, the result being a private or semi-private dining experience. Perhaps it is a factor of the age of the building, there is a subtle odor to the place, that does interfere with the total food enjoyment experience. The staff is pleasant, but a bit full of themselves, almost as if they expect the public to be in awe of the fact that the staff works for The Common Man. The presentation of the menu does not quite match up with the actual product from the kitchen. That stated, the food is good, and there is a nice variety, one just needs to keep in mind that while what the menu describes would be a great dining experience, the actual product from the kitchen does not measure up to what the menu promises; (perhaps the menu is what the company hopes to someday achieve?). I will return when in the area, as it is the best dining choice in that geographic area. I will just keep in mind that, while the food will be tasty, the menu promises more than what the kitchen delivers, and the bill will be appropriate for what the menu describes.

Went with 3 other couples, and none of us were happy with our meals. I had chicken with pulled pork, and the chicken was dry and stringy. Others had Mac & Lobster, and the lobster had been frozen. Another didn't get his steak done anywhere near the way he ordered it. In short, the food left much to be desired.

Disgrace of an employee that they have as a bar tender. This girl was rude, attitude, and had no respect for us, the hostess or others. They need to fire this girl. We have been in a few times and have found both the male hostess and female hostess to be great, but this young girl bartender is really making us rethink going back.

The food and service is pretty good and its a nice touch to be able to help yourself to cheese and crackers which are freely available. Prices are reasonable and the food from the regular menu tends to be ok but Ive been let down a few times with the specials. My biggest gripes here are that you can be stuck in a cold area of the house/dining area which never adds anything for me and if you end up sitting in the upstairs bar area you can hear the constant slamming of the entrance door, surely the owners can do something about that?
