“Good to be there, even when it rains”

The Meredith Inn is charming, clean and provided us with a spacious, practical room with excellent seats. Those seats appeared to be very handy the following day. Because of heavy rain we had to stay in our room for almost a complete day and even then the room was comfortable.
Beds were excellent and breakfast was delicious. The Meredith Inn is situated on only a few minutes walking distance form the beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee and it at about a one hour drive from the White Mountains. The inn absolutely was a great place to stay in New Hampshire.

What can I say, fantastic comes to mind. Really great inn and innkeeper. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The whole inn has more of a feel of a mom and pops Bed and breakfast. The inn keeper, Janet, is fantastically helpful and willing to chat. Gives great advice about the area, my wife was looking for a particular type of quilt and she was on the phone with her sister and local shops to help. Great, great place to stay. Best breakfast by far! Highly recommend. Sad to leave!

Janet, our hostess, was informative about things to do in the Lakes Region, in NH, in Maine, and even had directions for getting us back to Boston efficiently. She took great care of us, asking us about food preferences and any food allergies we might have. We stayed two nights and enjoyed her excellent omelets one morning and French toast the next. Each morning the main course was preceded by sumptuous fresh fruit and yogurt. We heard her pancakes are to die for, so we'll have to return. The room was spacious and very clean, and the Inn is close to downtown, the lake, and shopping. A lovely stay in a lovely town in an absolutely gorgeous state! We'll be back!

My daughter and I needed a little respite and decided to look around Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. We found a spa at the Church Landing Hotel (The Cascade Spa) and decided to try to find an inn in the area as well. After talking with Janet the proprietor of the Meredith Inn, www.meredithinn.com (and having viewed the website for the inn and decided on a room that looked great) I knew I had found the right place. Janet is warm and welcoming, her suggestions were great and I booked Room 7 with a king bed, fireplace and en suite bath with jacuzzi.

Upon arrival Janet had our room ready a little early to accomodate our early afternoon spa facial and massage. How nice was that! We were so impressed at the size of our room and the furnishings in it. And clean, clean, clean! The bathroom had such a nice vanity sink and mirror. King bed was very comfortable and the linens and towels exceptionally soft. After leaving the spa in bliss we returned to our room on a cold and drizzly day and was able to light the gas fireplace and make our room very cozy. After a quick shower we went out to find shops (plenty of real cute places, a Christmas shop and the League of NH Craftman's shop within 1/2 mi from the Inn. Talk about location!

Restaurants are plentiful in the area from a diner, pizza places, italian, american and everything in between. We lunched at Town Docks on the lake and had amazing lobster rolls in toasted hot dog rolls with french fries and onion rings. Everything was delicious and I'm fussy. Lobster was plentiful to say the least. We had dinner at the Lake House Grill in the Church Landing hotel. I ordered the special Prime Rib and it was enormous and my daughter had the Salmon entre. Both were excellent and the place was pretty with huge windows overlooking the lake. They don't take reservations but you can do call ahead seating. Recommended calling 1/2 hour before arrival. We were seated immediately upon giving our "call ahead" name. Great place.

The Meredith Inn (Janet) had a big notebook with menus and selections of the areas restaurants. Great tips. Breakfast at the Inn was amazing with local fresh fruit, omellets and french toast that would rival any high end hotel. All around an excellent time!!!

We stayed in Meredith in October 2009, doing some hiking tours in the White Moutains area and teh Franconia Notch State park. Meredith Inn was a quiet place, comfortable and with a great view overlooking the lake. You definitely nee to book a room with a view! The restaurant dwonstairs is worth a visit, live music several times a week!

This was a quaint, older style inn but recently refurbished inside. Our bedroom had an excellent new ensuite bathroom incorporating large walk-in shower. We were only there for 1 night and the proprietress cooked a lovely breakfast the following morning. It was an excellent centre for Lake Winnepesaukee - we took a boat tour around the lake which was charming - despite an amazing but short-lived thunder storm!

Spent 3 nights at this charming inn. Janet, our innkeeper, could not have been nicer and provided us with lots of information about the area. The accommodations were great -- we had a large room with bath, king size bed, fireplace, a/c unit and wireless internet . The living and dining rooms were lovely and provided an insight into the innkeeper's family and heritage with all the old photos on display. Breakfast was delicious and diversified. Someone in our family had suffered an injury while boating and Janet could not have been more accommodating to our family. I would highly recommend this warm and charming inn in Meredith, NH
