“A "theme" restaurant with great food”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

I always get nervous when I read about a restaurant and it is set around a theme. Probably comes from my experience at Chucky Cheese :-).

The difference at Camp is, that though there is a theme, it is really all about the food. We had a group of 6 of us go while we were vacationing up at the lake. It is part of Mill Falls, so there are plenty of shops and places to walk right there.

When we got to the restaurant I was immediately struck by 2 things; 1. It is a very small restaurant so I was thankful we had made reservations. 2. Everyone was incredibly friendly and accomodating. Though the servers are called camp counselors, our server did not overdue this. I wish I could remember her name, but she was very knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us through a great meal. The "Crackers and Cheese" appetizer is an absolute must. It is basically a very flavorful flat bread cheese pizza, that has tremendous flavor served on a wood plank. We had 2 servings for 6 of us and barely had room for dinner. I then had the meat loaf, which also had tremendous flavor, with mashed potatos and gravy. Not necessarily the meal you want in mid-summer, but it was so good. My wife was not quite as impressed by the fried chicken as it was 3 smaller cutlets with gravy versus the pieces fo chicken she was expecting. The bill for all 6 of us, including drink,s was just over $150, so a great value too

Overall everyone was extremely happy we went there and you go back the next time we are up at the Lake .

“Quirky, rustic and fun with great food”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

This is the kind of place where you spend most of your time looking at the decorations in between eating hearty meals.

I had the salmon over pasta special and it was very good.

I love a place with a sense of humour and this place has a wicked one!

“"Camp" at Winnipesaukee!”
Reviewed July 22, 2014

Tonight was the second attempt to dine at Camp. The first time was a rainy Saturday night--we left because the restaurant was filled with kids and the volume was high.
We decided to give it another try on this Monday night in the summer. Very few kids-the ones that were there were well behaved and a little older than the ones there at our first visit.
The atmoshere is like a summer camp--could be one like you went to as a kid or one like a summer house on the lake in NH, which is often referred to as a "camp".
My dish was very good-it was the Veggie delight which is panko coated tofu and grilled zucchini and portobello mushroom with a hot sauce.
Since this is a Common Man restaurant, there was complimentary cheese and crackers available.
If you want an evening without being with kids, try this restaurant on an off night-you'll be happy with the food and service. DeeDee the hostess is the sweetest!

“Good meals, fun atmosphere”
Reviewed July 2, 2014 via mobile

Went with my husband and 3 teens for dinner on Tues 7/1. Bit of difficulty finding the restaurant as you can't see it from either Main St nor Route 3 but the very helpful hostess actually waived us in after 2 calls for directions !! (Thank you!!). Place is small with limited seating but being Tuesday we were fine. We enjoyed a variety of apps including calamari, wings, onion stack and poutine (fries with gravy and shredded duck). All very enjoyable and tasty. Dinners included 3 buttermilk fried chicken, black pepper burger and veggie delight (tofu). All meals were enjoyed. Portion sizes were amble without being oversized. Black pepper burger was very peppery even for someone who likes pepper and hot stuff. Service was prompt and friendly. Would definitely return.

“Great fun atmosphere and great food”
Reviewed June 8, 2014

The most distinctive thing about Camp is the laid-back summer camp theme with special menu items and decor. The food is very good, service is excellent, and the fun is there for all. It is fairly small so keep that in mind. Go early in the high season!
