“Not near the airport”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2012

We made a reservation at this hotel because the information we read said it was near the airport. It was NOT near the airport. I was 20 minutes away from the airport. If you are traveling early in the morning, find another place to stay.

On the positive side, the hotel has recently been rennovated and the rooms are new. They are small, however, and the doors are not new. They have installed very bright spotlights over every door the light shines all night long. The gap around our door was large and we had to stuff towels in the gaps in order to darken our room so that we could sleep.

At some point during the night, the power went out and we had no A/C. In the morning, the managers were standing in the lobby shrugging their shoulders and saying they had no idea what was going on.

This is the second time I have stayed here. If I had remembered the hotel from my first stay, there would not have been a second.

We are sorry to hear that your stay did not live up to your expectations. We strive to create a great experience for all of our guests and we are disappointed to hear we fell short in your case. We are investigating the issue with our guestroom doors, thank you for bringing that to our attention. In regards to our distance to the airport, I believe you may have used the new entrance road to the airport and from our location that would be a longer route. Utilizing the Brown Ave. exit off of I-293 we are only 5.5 miles so we do consider ourselves to be near the airport. We do apologize for the power outage that occured during your stay but unfortunately that was not something that we could fix on the property level, the issue was not with our equipment but rater with the utility pole controlled by the utility company. We alerted the public utility company immediately and the problem was rectified within a few hours but again we do regret the inconvenience caused to you. Please accept our apologies and we hope that you will reconsider visiting us again.

We only stayed one night at this hotel but we pleasantly surprised by the service and warm welcome at check-in. The room was spacious and very clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable I had seen. Breakfast was very good and the breakfast attendant, Susan, was very friendly and helpful and we appreciated that she spoke to us in french as we're from Canada. We recommend this hotel and we'll return for sure when visiting the area.

Pool was not open. Fitness room has a nice supply of dumb bells and medicine balls. One treadmill one bike. Business center could be used to print boarding passes. The woman serving breakfast was really terrific. Friendly and kept food fresh. Front desk folks were very pleasant. Desk chair in room was almost broken. Room and bathroom a little cramped. Fridge and microwave and iron and ironing board in the room. Good price. Location looks bad at first but it is actually convienent to airport and downtown. The hotel has its own traffic light going in and out.

Room Tip: Rooms in the middle of the hotel have slow elevator service and are far from the stairs

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel, we value all feedback from our guests. I do apologize that the pool was not open for your enjoyment. The project to open it for the season grew beyond our expectations but will be open in the next few days. I am a bit surprised about the comment on room size as we often hear the opposite feedback. Our rooms with two beds actually have two queen size beds and still leave ample room for a lounge chair. I am glad you enjoyed the service, location and amenities such as our complimentary breakfast and fitness room. I hope you will come visit us again this Summer when our pool is complete.

We stayed at La Quinta Manchester for one night.
We arrived late, and we were really tired for driving 8 hours. Plus, it had taken us over 2 hours to go through US customs! First, we really liked that the hotel was so close to the highway. No trouble finding it! Also, it was the first time that we had brought our two dogs to a hotel, and we were quite nervous about it. Instantly, Helena at the front desk was very warm and welcoming. She asked about our dogs and even gave them cookies! The room was right around the corridor, near the back entrance where we could bring our dogs out easily. I was told it was a pet room, but it was as clean a room as I had ever seen! As for breakfast, it was very satisfactory. I especially liked the waffle maker! For us, la Quinta was a great value!! We loved it there, and would not hesitate to go again!!

Room Tip: The walls are very thick. Even though we were close to the front desk and at the beginning of the co...

We stayed overnight at this location while our daughter was at her university orientation in Durham. Three of us enjoyed a spacious room with two queen-sized beds. This La Quinta has just been renovated, having been converted from a hotel of a different chain. The bathroom was stocked with fluffy white towels; the beds, so tall I could not touch the floor, piled with white pillows and an ingenious arrangement of an extra sheet enveloping the comforter so that every surface I touched was clean and fresh. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable of the general area. The location is great, next to the Fishway and near downtown. Manchester is worth a visit, as they have reclaimed all the old mill buildings to great effect.
As we arrived, a member of the staff was planting new flowers near the drive. The outdoor pool will open at the end of June, and looks to be very inviting. All the surrounding grounds are well maintained.
I'm looking forward to visiting my daughter so that I can stay here again.

Room Tip: The staff gave us our choice of rooms; we chose the top floor so that we could look out at the city.

La Quinta, Manchester is a lovely hotel with hard working staff. Plenty of free parking to the fron and rear of property. The large lobby area is brand new and has the breakfast area with plenty of seating - comfie armchairs and tables & chairs. Breakfast egg and sausage was the best I have tasted in a very long time + bagels fruit cereal toast drinks - breakfast finishes at 9am. The rooms are large and very clean with comfortable beds - free wifi which did not drop out. Tea and coffee in the room with a microwave and fridge. Nice flat screen tv - not too many channels but nevertheless ok ones. Unfortunately we had a problem with the air-con - it switched on and off all night - every 10 mins or so - when it was off we overheated very quickly and woke up - actually got up at 4 am in the end. Staff acted very quickly and changed our room for us but we discovered it was the same in the new room. There is no option of having a fan on only and staff could not provide us with an actual fan so for this reason and this reason only we would not stay here again. Ask for a room at the back to avoid the traffic noise - not too bad but there all the same at the front. Swimming pool is in the making at the moment so should be done by July / August I think - any work starts around 9am and is finished by 4 / 5 pm - again ask for room at the back to avoid the jackhammers. Would have liked a bit more info on the area + a better map but I think these are in the pipeline. To sum up this is a really lovely hotel and you should give it a try taking into consideration the points in this review.
ps - you can walk into town to the bars and resaurants - around 25 min walk.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms at the back

Thank you so much for taking the time to share you experience, we appreciate all your kind words. I am glad you appreciated our hardworking staff and delicious breakfast. We appreciate you noticing all of our amenities and the attention to detail created to provide a great experience for our guests. In regards to the room temperature unit, I believe the issue is that your unit was set to 'auto' rather than just 'cool'. The 'auto' setting with a programmed temperature would turn the condensor on and off to maintain that temperature number. I apologize that this solution was not communicated to you during your stay. Hopefully you will return and give us the opportunity to provide you with a more comfortable night's sleep. Thank you again for the positive review, we appreciate your thoughtful comments.

On a trip to Boston, we stopped for a night at this property. Good price and very clean & secure. Must have been recently renovated as the rooms were all up to date but the pool was still being repaired. Breakfast was more than adequate.
