“Don't go there”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 2, 2014

Meal was mediocre, but when we went to pay the bill which was $22, I put out $30. When the waitress said she would get change, I said no I was all set, and we left. Half hour later I received a call from the Manchester police dept. accusing me of not paying. Attempting to contact the owner directly was useless. They need to train their waitresses better, or fire ones that lie, steal, and blame it on the patrons. If you choose to go there don't plan to pay cash.

“Travel 50 miles for Canadian Breakfast!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2014

I like to introduce people to breakfast at this restaurant. It's a 50 mile drive one way, but if you have Canadian roots, it's well worth the trip! Try the Gorton (My ancestry calls it Cretons). It's great on buttered toast. Poutine is a once a year treat. Gotta go to Chez Vachon at least once a year! Always must bring people who have never been. Tomorrow, in fact, I introduce four women to breakfast at this restaurant. Yes, we will travel 50 miles to get there!

“A greasy spoon with character”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2014

If you are looking for fine dining than this retaurant is not for you.Chez Vachon is decidely low brow and is the classic "greasy spoon". Normaly i am not a huge fan of these kind of places but this place is an exception. First off the food is extremly cheap. A person could easily eat their fill for under $10. Even better though is the ethnic french canadian classics they keep on their menu. Given Manchesters heritage i feel like there are far to few places in the city offering this cuisine. On my visit i had poutine for an app, followed by salmon pie with stewed tomatoes for lunch. As someone who oders poutine anytime he sees it on a menu i will say for such a local townie spot their poutine is pretty dam good. The fries seem to be handcut and the gravy has a little spice to it. The salmon pie was delicous and along with pork pie is probaly the most authentic french canadian comfort food there is. Its safe to say that next time i am in the 603 and want some early morning food i will be back.

“Well made Canuk food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2014

Service was okay, food was slow coming out of the kitchen. Pork pie's a bit gorton tasting (never had clove in pork pie), but it was good (better than Moms). Genuine old New England baked beans. Coffee was very good. Will be back to try more of their dishes.

“Great Breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 8, 2013

We arrived about 9:00 a.m. to a packed restaurant and stood for maybe 10 minutes before we were seated. Our waitress Sarah was very thorough and when we received our food we were surprised as the food took up the whole plate. A very good Breakfast, great service and we will be back for lunch in the near future.
