We have frequented this establishment on a couple of occassions and each time there were not too many patrons, but the menu offerings were good. Twice they had "special" menu's only, due to Thanksgiving & Mother's Day .... the other times they had their regular menu. Although the food was good, we had the prime rib and leg of lamb, it was priced a "little" high for that type of restaurant (family), not high end, but pretty close. Nice portions, but had to ask for rolls and the waitress was EXTREMELY attentive....maybe due to lack of patrons that evening....we arrived about an hour prior to closing. Actually, every time we went to the business, there were not a lot of people in the dining area , but (in the warmer months) the ice cream part of the business does quite well. I made a reservation, but really didn't need to.

I have been here many times at many different meal hours and the food ranges from so good its memorable to so bad we have to send it back. Usually not very crowded and the Portuguese food tends to be better than the American fare. The nachos are actually remarkably large and never had a bad bout with them. I am guessing they have different chefs or one chef who has different moods--and honestly there were a few times where the food was down right amazing! The same goes for the staff, majority of our experiences with the wait staff have been very positive with a few waitresses bending over backwards to please our finicky child but our last visit it was clearly a birthday celebration for about 8 people were the only ones in the restaurant on a very snowy night and the two waitresses on staff seemed to be too busy for us to attend to our requests as they were preoccupied doing "chores". The good news is that on a Friday or Saturday night when everyone has a half hour wait it is usually pretty sure that you will get seated here right away (breakfast can be busier) If you are nearby, don't want to wait too long and are willing to take a chance it could be the best meal of your life--and worst case if you really don't find the food acceptable they are very good about alternative menu items and making it right.

I've been here several times BUT it never gets better !!! Breakfast is OK; BUT lunch & dinner is NOT GOOD !!!...It seems they try to be everything to everybody & is POOR TO EVERYONE !!!...Menu is so large, they food gets old. Atmosphere is less than average. Service is OK, but the bar tender spends too much time talking with the regulars. And I WON'T BECOME A REGULAR !!!

Had heard about this place for so long and finally gave it a try. Or I should say TRIED to give it a try. Went one evening with my wife. Almost no one there. Few people at the bar who gave us a weird look. Maybe the place is just for regulars? No one came to seat us. Finally someone at the bar said "someone will be with you shortly". At that point we decided to leave. I've always found an empty place at dinner time is a bad sign. Since then others have mentioned it is not so good. Would not try again.

They dinners are very average, but the breakfasts keep us going back. The pancakes are huge and crispy, just the way I like them. Add eggs and bacon and it's the best meal of the day!
