No swimming is allowed here, though boats of all sizes (kayaks, sailboats, etc.) are encouraged, and there are a huge number of trails around the lake that is split in half by Route 28. Anywhere is beautiful, and we have been to many of the different trails multiple times. We highly recommend the main parking area right off the Massabesic rotary as well as the trails further south on 28 that lead out to Battery Point, a historic location where there used to be an old hotel, and which still has granite stairs and remnants, with 270 degrees of views -- well worth the mile hike. We highly recommend this area in the spring, summer, or fall, and I'm sure it is even beautiful in the winter. Free fun is hard to come by, but this is perfect.

Lake Massabesic is by far one of my favorite places to visit! Miles and miles of beautiful walking trails. This place is a family place, solo place and a romantic place for couples. Any day you go there you will pass people walking their dogs, cyclists, joggers and even horseback riders.

The lake is Manchester's water supply so there is no swimming allowed. Boats are allowed on the lake and you will see plenty of sail boats, kayaks and many people fishing from the shoreline. They have a parking area just for parking your boats or trailers on. Located just off the rotary past the church heading to Auburn.

There is plenty of parking in the main parking lot and it gets busy with people just enjoying the view or stopping by to have their lunch or an ice cream from down the road. Once you go on the trails, it becomes peaceful and nature takes over. You can walk a long distance before passing another person.

The mountain bike trails are one of the best in the area. They keep them well maintained and are so enjoyable. I can spend hours just riding the trails of Lake Massabesic.

Dog walkers are very respectful and you do not find any mess left behind. Also goes for trash, you never see it. There is a port-a-potty located in the parking lot.

Great place for a picnic. If you want to grab a bite to eat Zoey's Pizza is right around the rotary and if you want ice cream - Golden Rod is further up the road. Both I highly recommend.

The only negative thing that I can say is that when its baseball season there is a field across the street and cars park on the road making a bit difficult to exit or enter the Lake's Parking lot. Just have to be more aware and careful.

Love this place and always will hold it close to my heart.

This park is a hidden jewel.

As stated by others, there is no swimming just sun, shade, breezes, trails, birds, fish, sailboats, rowboats and people reading or walking or running or rowing.

The people who choose this waterfront park are the type of people who say "good morning, have a nice walk". They are not like the majority of beach seekers -- aggressive and loud.

Bring a chair, back a lunch (or eat a short walk away at 2 different restaurants) and shut off the technology for an hour or so. Open 8am to 8pm and police patrol often -- even though there are no problems at this park. Public boat drops at points around the lake.

Great place to walk your dog! So beautiful and convenient if you live in the city or close by. The trails are well groomed and easy. I love seeing families strolling together. This is Manchester's water supply so swimming is not allowed.
