Description: Schilling Beer Co. Is a progressive European-inspired small-batch brewery. We exclusively brew beers that we are personally passionate about--beers that tell a story about our history, friendship and values. We believe that craft beer is best enjoyed in community and within a specific sense of place. Our Cicerone-educated staff and unique location-on the banks of the Ammonoosuc River in a carefully renovated three-story 1797 gristmill-provide an optimal environment to do just that. We offer rustic Neopolitan-style pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven, local meats and cheeses and other plates designed to pair with our beers. Our food is rustic, simple and fresh, emphasizing local sources whenever possible. Outdoor beer garden and riverfront deck seating are available, weather permitting.

If you like beer, especially dark beer, this is the place for you. They also have very interesting pizza. They have a great setting by the river and in the summer you can sit outside. We enjoyed our dinner there.

Being gluten free and lactose free, eating out is difficult up here in northern NH. Not so at Shilling; delicious oven baked GF prizza and hard apple cider. Families are welcome and atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. They don't take orders on phone but I go, place and order to go and have a beverage.

Tried it once, won't be coming back. Nothing special here, move along!
This place is easy to miss, as it is along the 'waterfront', downtown Littleton. Dark street, scattered parking, doesn't leave you with a safe feeling. You're better to park on the Main street in Littleton and walk down to the restaurant. Only way to get to it is a one way street.
The welcome we received was terrible. When you as a patron have to greet the staff first, there's a serious problem. Was the girl shy? Timid? Uninterested? Hey, you're in the wrong line of work. Looked like it was more of a bother to the girl serving us. Too bad, that sort of spoiled the moment.
Outdoor seating was available, though it was devoid of customers. For a Friday night, this seemed odd. Perhaps 15 people seated inside, on two floors. Music on the second floor, performed by a band. Won't bother about that. Interior was pine benches and a few chairs, the bar had a nice look to it and the pizzas were made visibly next to the bar. The food was good, served relatively fast, also hot. The beers were also good, served right without too much head (foam). If they could find motivated staff, especially your host who greets you, it would make a world of improvement to this business. Unfortunately, you had one chance. Atmosphere is everything.

I can't comment on the food here, because all we stopped in for was an afternoon beer while on vacation. What I can say is that the service was excellent. We asked for recommendations on what to drink and received some great, insightful recommendations. We sat out on the deck where we could see/hear the river and enjoyed our drinks. It started raining and our table had an umbrella so we decided to sit there and finish our beer/cider. Our waitress kept coming out to check on us in the rain - she said she wouldn't melt. =) Great people.

The food and service was great. The pizza was awesome! The only let down was that the temperature inside the Beer Co. was stifling. It was that hot that the guests and staff we're all sweating. The ceiling fans were on but did little. I had to keep walking outside with my 11 month old to get fresh air. Highchairs were available but no room inside to take a pram comfortably. There was a lovely outdoor eating area too with a lovely view that my little one enjoying sitting at.

Thank you for your comments. We make every effort to keep our staff and guests comfortable, and recognize that we were all a bit warm the evening of your visit. We made a major upgrade to our AC system just this week, and you'll find it considerably cooler inside. Cheers!
