“Fans for 20 Years...”
Reviewed June 19, 2010

We have been enjoying Tim and Beruda's elegant meals at Tim-Bur Alley for over 20 years -- from their early days near the river in a small alleyway, to its current location on Main Street. The food has always been inventive and outstanding; and the environment intimate and very personal. Desserts and soups are always my favorite. It is a quiet restaurant where time slows down a bit, and we savor good conversation food. A terrific anecdote to a busy week.

“Imaginative menu and presentation along with tasty tidings”
Reviewed June 1, 2010

My husband and I enjoyed a great anniversary dinner and the food was wonderful. The owners were very pleasant and accommodating. I highly recommend this cozy, artistic little gem of a restaurant.

“Gourmet in the shadow of the White Mountains.”
Reviewed January 16, 2010

I was quite surprised at how good the food was here.

My wife is a vegetarian and there were no vegetarian options on the seasonal menu. Yet, when we asked our serve about this (who is also the chef's wife) she responded that the chef is happy to put together a vegetarian entrée.

I ordered the salmon dish, which was served with a wide range of perfectly cooked vegetables and creative pesto sauce. My wife's vegetarian creation was both inventive and delicious; not a careless afterthought. We always appreciate a high quality restaurant that is willing to put the same care and quality into a vegetarian dish, especially when not on the menu.

Since business was a bit slow the night we were there, we were able to chat a bit to our server. She was quite attentive and we mentioned that we were on our honeymoon - the last night. We ordered a pear pastry dessert which was fabulous. Written in chocolate across the top of our plate: "Congratulations!" It was a simple, but nice (and sweet!) touch.

The main thing about this place, though, is that it is all about the food. It was the best meal of our trip - two weeks of eating out at many great places - and a wonderful way to finish our honeymoon. Bear in mind that the menu changes frequently, they have no web site, and the only take cash (or check). Well worth it.

“If you are a stranger, you do not get served well!”
Reviewed November 6, 2009

We had no reservation but we were given a table after some discussion. The food was good but the restaurant is overrated. Highly unusual was the fact that we were asked to leave before we had our desert. If the table was reserved after us then they should have told us that this was the case before we sat down. Not on our list for the future!

“small, every-changing menu”
Reviewed October 22, 2009

It's a small, couple owned-managed restaurant that changes their menu weekly.

Since the menu is small, it's a matter of narrowing down what you do eat if you're a picky eater. However the food is really fresh and well prepared.

Bring cash as they don't take credit cards.
