“Family Friendly”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

My family stayed @ the Woodward's Resort for the first time, 11/22-11/24. We stayed for 2 nights as part of the Christmas Tree Package. We had a wonderful time! We traveled with 3 other families, and are making it a family tradition to go back each year!

The rooms are definitely dated, but very comfortable and accomodating for our family. WE had 2 double beds in our room, and we slept 5 of us (myself, my husband, and 3 sons-- ages 3, 2 and 10 weeks old). We had plenty of room and the beds were very comfy! The room had a mini fridge (was able to hold 1/2 gallons of milk for the kids) and a coffee maker.

The pool was large and was never very busy. The pool lounge area was large and allowed even those not swimming to come and hang out. The pool was a bit chilly for my liking; I wish it had been a little warmer. The jacuzzi was divine and very inviting! There are no lifegaurds on duty.

Santa's "room" was adorable and the kids looked forward to seeing if he was there or not. On Sunday, the kids loved seeing Santa walk by the windows of the restaurant. The visitation with Santa was wonderful-- plenty of opportunity to take photos and Santa asked the kids all about what they wanted for Christmas, what their ages were, what their likes are, etc. It was very relaxed which made the kids less fearful.

Restaurant was very nice. Food was good. Plenty of options for adults and kids.

We will definitely be back next year!

We stayed for 5 nights as part of a New England tour. The owner Renee and the staff were lovely. Very warm & welcoming. Carols oatmeal (porridge) was wonderful. Just like my mum used to make. Our room was comfortable, clean and all we could want, although the beds were rather noisy. The grounds and surrounding area were beautiful. All in, we had a wonderful experience.

Stayed as part of a New England tour for 3 nights. Good location for getting around the area. The rooms are chalet style and reminded us of a Butlins holiday camp, functional but not special.
The hotel is remote from any town center so you have no choice but to eat in and in comparison to other hotels we stayed in in New England it was expensive.
Beds were the noisiest we have ever en counted and when you moved it sounded as though you were sleeping on Christmas wrapping paper.
Breakfast was good and service excellent but in the evening the meals were ok but you did feel that it was a case of get you in and fed and out again.
The hotel did not have an air of being able to relax although the welcome on arrival was very good.

We stayed for three nights in August 2013 as part of a New England road trip. We received a wonderful greeting and the staff could not have been more helpful. The whole resort seemed to be stuck in the 60's. This is not a criticism just an observation. Our ground floor room was spotlessly clean and nicely appointed. It very close to the swimming pool this, may be a problem for some. The restaurant was very dated but served excellent food especially the breakfast which really set you up for the day. The bar manager was a member of the family who originally built the resort, he went to New York and Boston running and owning restaurants - great company and made for a very enjoyable early evening tipple. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for five nights as part of a New England tour.
Our first impression was that we had stepped back in time, in a nice way !! It reminded us of the setting for the film Dirty Dancing, indeed that first night i was glued to the tv which was showing a 1950s type variety show !!!
We occupied room 76 which although dated and basic was spotlessly clean and had comfortable beds, which is all you really need when on a touring holiday. The breakfasts were lovely, mainly due to Carol who is one of the stars of Woodwards. The food in the evenings was o.k, if you get there early the prime rib was very nice !

Stayed here for a week while touring The White Mountains. A super location right in the heart of the mountain region. We were greeted on arrival by Renee, the manager who gave a good overview of all the facilities. The pool was inviting and warm. The restraunt staff were very helpful with a good breakfast to start our day. A good quality room completed our stay.

I started staying at Woodward's when I was 7 years old, 31 years ago. It was a tradition for my family to head up to the White Mountains and stay at Woodward's. Now, with my own daughter, we have continued the tradition and have been staying there multiple times a year for the last 8 years and we have celebrated her birthday there every summer in July. I can't say enough about the staff at Woodward's. My daughter and I consider them family. My daughter has food allergies and the wait staff, the cooks - Kevin, Aaron, Jeremy, and Chris all take very good care of her. Tammie, Madelyn, Sue, Deb, and Carol are all amazing, along with Gina and the front desk staff. This is the perfect place to stay in Lincoln if not for the staff alone. Staying anywhere else is not even a consideration!
