All of the staff we dealt with were very friendly. Sadie at the bar was very nice. (There wasn't much to do in the area at all except for driving around, going to the movies, and hiking in the snow. Pretty much all of the ski resorts were closed down.) Our poor planning of course when just wanting a few nights away from home on a whim. The room was very clean and the view from the balcony was nice. There were marks on the carpet in our room from an iron. Someone literally just set it on the carpet and melted it, which looked a little trashy. The food was very good. A little disappointed that the restaurant was only open one of the nights we were there. (closed on Monday and Tuesday) that was a little inconveniencing considering we were supposed to have breakfast included with our stay 1 morning, and then after driving around for about an hour we were finally able to find a restaurant that was actually opened to get breakfast before we went home. We were awoken around 7:30am one morning to a child running back and forth on the front porch in front of the doors, that was very noise because you could hear and feel the porch shake while in bed. Also when trying to use the outdoor hot tub we walked outside to see a couple heavily making out and displaying PDA that probably should have been done in the room they paid for. That made us a little uncomfortable and we went back inside and used the indoor pool.

We're staying here for the annual murder mystery event that we attend every year and we weren't impressed. They boast 50" tvs but the programming wasn't HD and the programs were blurry. Our coffee pot has a 12" hair in it, clearly it hasn't been cleaned. Our room smells old and the furniture it has is stained and worn. The sad part is that they told us this was one of their best rooms. The countertop in the bathroom was nice and the view from our room was amazing. If that's what you came for, you'd be impressed. The kids will give the pool a try and hopefully that'll be a success. Otherwise, the location is an exit away from where we wanted to be. Oh well, lesson learned.

Our main reason to stay here is to snowmobile as the trails run right by the hotel. although it was April, there was plenty of snow. Considering this is a large part of their business they could make it a little easier by 1) posting trail conditions or at least being able to answer the question when asked 2) making it easier to get to the trail from the rooms across the street. Would be oh so simple to leave an opening from the parking lot to the trail thru the cottages next door but instead you have to drive thru a busy parking lot all the way around to the road. First the good: spacious rooms, and the ability to reserve only 1 night on the weekend. check in at 4:00 (which is quite late) but that is flexible. Pool and jacuzzi are great. Restaurant - food was very good and abundant. Nice lounge~ friendly staff! Meal plan is a great value IF you have kids 12 and under. when two kids turn 13 the cost will go from $60 to $120! too much of a jump! Kids 13-17 should be an extra $10 as long as they are fine with a kids meal which has a good selection. Decor is beautiful if you love native american. I would like to see some of the rooms dog friendly as we rarely travel without our furry family. could easily be done across the street in one wing without bothering anyone else OR winterizing some of the cabins which would also be ideal with the snowmobile right at your door.

other than pool not a lot to do in the winter but that doesnt bother us as we are out most of the time. Good experience that could easily be improved.

Room Tip: rooms across the street are more spacious if you dont mind the walk to the pool. mini fridge, coffe...

Our stay was sort of up and down. The up: our room was clean. We stayed in the building across from the main building. A little inconvenient, but not enough to go elsewhere. We ate in the restaurant on site. The food was ok. Hey, it's not gourmet, it's geared towards families. The service was ok. We felt a bit forgotten at times, but personality made up for that. The down: our toilet had that ring at the top of the water. You know, the one that forms if you don't clean it for awhile. Yeah, not good. I didn't notice until late, and we were only staying one night, so I ignored it, but informed the desk staff, after we settled our bill. They were grossed out and apologized. Ali a down was the lounge service. If we waited for a server we would never have had a drink. We had to go to the bar, both initially and for a second drink. It was far from busy, there were probably ten people there, so I have no idea why this was. We'll still go back though. We've been going for years.

In several ways Indian Head tries hard. The competitive room rates being the most appreciated combined with the ability to stay only one night. (I am against minimum stay requirements, especially at motels). And our room was totally clean. Yet not giving us our room keys was not one of them. How are we supposed to settle in and enjoy the "resort activities?" So after waiting in the lobby with several other families starting around 2 P.M. (and being strung along by the front desk, told that our key may become available "so check back"). Even though we were roomless, we were told we could start using the resort activities which included the ping pong which we tried but turned out to be the most defective ping pong table I have ever seen and should be thrown away. Since my kid enjoys ping pong this actually was a big let down. We ended up leaving for a couple hours. Another issue later, the outdoor hot tub was hogged by one group even though the motel was full of hundreds of other guests. And how interesting, our room was cleaned by 8:30 A.M. the next morning. Not 4 P.M. On the plus side was the large, open dining area with view, kids' dinner buffet, friendly wait staff and band with dancing. You don't have to be a guest to dine there.

Have been here before with no problems. Booked 2 nights thru a booking website with my AE card. Got confirmation number okay. On arrival, front desk states "we dont take AE so you should not have been accepted". Used another credit card to get room and upgrade from across the street room to room in main building. Game room old, worn and dark-same with indoor pool area. Not for laying back with a book. Room big enough but with mismatched stained chairs. Sink featured Cloudy tap water. Beds were comfortable but had to kill a fly in the room (3 degrees outside)and during the night had to scratch my lower leg when something bit me. Ordered pizza delivery from room service who then asked if i wanted it delivered???. They called back 5 minutes after the order asking how I was going to pay for it??? Pizza arrived-in a box and napkins. No plates. Both me and my kid felt sick and did not want to stay another night so we checked out after first night. They said "you've got to pay for both nights since you used a booking service" they said. ATM machine would not work properly also. Could not get out of there fast enough for what it cost me! Woodwards resort is far better than this place is now! Avoid this place!

We were in Room 600. We paid about $400 for two nights. It was not worth it. The floor in the room squeaked A LOT and it was super annoying. There were long black hairs on the floor in the bathroom, on the toilet and on the sink. It was clear and obvious and should have been caught. The clocks were blinking as if they had been unplugged or the power had gone out, but they didn't take the time to fix this? It's a simple courtesy but would have been nice for them to have fixed. The shower didn't drain correctly. (PS: bring soap and shampoo because what they supply didn't work very well) The beds are rock hard. Where we were staying, there was a lake that you had to walk through to get to the rooms. I know snow makes things difficult and there was a lot of it, but there must be something you can do to not have people walking through a lake. We could hear every person walking by the room, because the pathways are hollow and loud. For $67 a night, we could have visited a cabin we enjoy and had a wood burning fireplace. We thought for this much money, we'd get a really nice room.

The positive: there were a lot of pillows, a mini fridge and microwave. The TV is also very big and has a good picture.
