“Natural Wonder”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

We ended up here late in the day, and were a bit tired from all the other walks we'd done and the weather was not the greatest having had rain and low hanging clouds. Having said all of that though it was a great walk to see a beautiful spot. Definitely worth the time and energy, even late in the day. We thought about returning on subsequent nice days, but never did. Alas, we'll have to return on a future trip.

“Great Spot”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

The Basin is a great place to stop when in Franconia Notch. It is an easy walk to see the water swirling around the rocks. The trees are lovely and provide plenty of shade on a warm day. Trails go off from this spot if you want to do more walking.

“Enchanted Forest”
Reviewed September 6, 2013 via mobile

A little girl walking near us looked up at her mother and asked, "Is this an enchanted forest?" This four year old's eloquence exceeds anything I could utter. It is an easy hike with a walkway to the Basin for the handicapped.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

I love, love, love Franconial Notch State Park and we finally got to visit "the Basin". It's worth while checking out and it is not a difficult hike, very easy and you will forever remember how beautiful it was. There are some hiking trails you can pick up from that area which makes it a good all day trip.

“A must stop.”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

This is my first stop here and I will return. At the bottom by the Baby flume and the Basin its a bit crowded but as you work your was up the trail the crowds thin out. By the time you get to Kinsman falls there are very few people and further up at Rocky Glen falls you are almost alone. I think the only thing to say is thank God for digital cameras. If I were using print film or slides I'd need a dozen rolls. There are great view at almost every turn. Wear foot gear that you don't mind getting wet and you will get even better photo ops.
