“My go to Mountain”
Reviewed January 28, 2014

My favorite mountain within 2 hours of driving. The staff is great, the food is excellent and they care a lot about conditions and it shows. I've been a season pass holder for 3 years and as long as I can afford it, I'll continue to have a pass. The only dislike is the half day price is about $10 cheaper from a full pass but you lose 3-4 hours.. kind of a bum deal, but they did spend a lot on equipment this past summer. Luckily my season pass price hasn't been affected, yet.

“Snowshoeing & the Ice Castle”
Reviewed January 27, 2014

I went there this past weekend with my 8 year old daughter. We did the guided snowshoe summit tour then the ice castle. The snowshoeing is what it is-- nice gondola ride to the top of the mountain, good workout (3 miles of snowshoeing) & over half the time is snowshoeing down ski trails. I was hoping for more of an "off the beaten path" showshoeing tour -- not a complaint, just an observation......The ice castle was great. I now see some recent favorable reviews about it, but I remember a review or 2 basically saying it wasn't worth the 30 bucks for a family of 4 to see it. We really liked -- definitely unique & great for picture-taking.

Spectacular colors at night, lots of winter activities to do, a must for kids and adults too. Drive and experience their famous Kancamagus Highway.

“Ice Castles are Beautiful in the Snow”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

In the midst of winter, I suggest a visit to the Ice Castles at the foot of Loon Mountain. There's plenty of parking even on the snowiest of days. The ticket line moved quickly considering all adventure ticket sales are sold in the same place. The ice castles will appeal to romantics and small children who still see magic! By day its pretty but after dark, the ice is illuminated in blues, greens, reds, etc... the whole place simply glows.

Be prepared to walk on groomed snow and ice...boots are a must!

“The best in snow-making and grooming!”
Reviewed January 22, 2014

Loon consistently does a superior job in snowmaking and grooming! That's probably why it's also one of the more crowded ski resorts around! (Plus there location is SO convenient!)
