Always great food and coffee and baked items that you gain 5 pounds just for looking at! LOL Friendly staff and easy to find what you want.

“Expensive, but sometimes worth it”
Reviewed February 22, 2014

In general, the DHMC cafeteria offers a nice selection of food at a much lower price than any of the alternatives in the food court. However, Au Bon Pain (ABP) does offer a better variety of sandwich options and also features more pastry options. When it comes to soup and mac & cheese, I would avoid ABP and head to the cafeteria - the mac & cheese, in particular, is bland and watery. The service is mixed. I have stopped ordering from the counter here because of one man who is without fail unfriendly and painfully slow; it should not require 5 minutes to spread cream cheese on a bagel. Otherwise, the coffee here is good, and if it is late in the evening after the cafeteria has closed, this is not a bad option.

“Great Soup”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

I have eaten here often, its in the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. The soup is a healthy option, also yogurts, salads and hot sandwiches. Service is quick and friendly.

“Au Bon Pain”
Reviewed February 5, 2013

Au Bon Pain is very expensive. Scones are delicious, soups & yogurt are good but ordinary. It's a serve yourself place to eat so you don't need to tip.

“Fine for a Quick Coffee!”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

I have had coffee and a pastry here a couple of times within the past six months. I usually like Bon Pain chain and always enjoy their coffee, but many of their muffins and pastries are very highly caloried. Not very good for a health-care facility!

If you want to have a light meal (soups and salads) or just a coffee and a muffin, I recommend eating in the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center's own cafeteria, where it is cheaper and you can sit in comfort. If you come in the main entrance, it is located on the corridor leading to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center.
