Just returned from a two night business trip with a stay at the Coos Motor Inn. Perfect for what we needed; a clean, quiet place near our work site. I liked the refrigerator in the room and the coffee maker, too. $5 day pass to use the fitness center across the street was good, walking distance to two restuarants, several options, including a grocery store, to buy stuff. Continental breakfast not too elaborate, but I got a bowl of cereal each morning and was good to go.

We stayed 4/12/04 overnight it is basically on the north part of the main road. right next door is a gas station with a convenience store I think it is a big Apple and Exxon gas. on the other side of the hotel is a small shopping center with a small Shaw’s (New England Shopping center chain), a NH State Liquor store a video store (no DVD or VCR in rooms) and I think one other store, maybe a dollar store there is a Rite Aid Pharmacy with in walking distance plenty of little restraints’ within a short drive or walk.

It is a two story hotel with elevator and two staircases one in front one in back. There is plenty of parking and you can either enter the hotel from the front, or back with room Key.
Rooms either have one king size bed with a love seat couch or two queen size beds there is one nonsmoking sweet which is an adjoining room one has two queen beds the other has one queen. There is one bath between the two rooms but does have a few extras like a microwave. I have not seen this room only heard about it They have both smoking and nonsmoking rooms available
we stayed on the second floor in a King size bed room it appeared that the whole second floor is nonsmoking the hallway did seam to have a faint smell of smoke but rooms did not; I am a former smoker so I pick up on that more so then others. The rooms them self are a good size the bathrooms are quite small to give you more common space. the bath has a shower tub (with handicap bar in it which is very sturdy) and toilet. Not much more room you can not sit on toilet and open or close door. The sink is outside the bath next to small closet. Rooms do have very nice Iron and Ironing board. Ample selection of TV channels, some are in French due to proximity of Quebec. Rooms are very clean and you never have a feeling of not being safe. Each room has it own thermostat and baseboard heat as well as the standard heat pump air-conditions under the windows of most chain hotels.

Continental breakfast is included in a small room in the main lobby with 4 tables two chairs at each. It consists of muffins mini chocolate glazed or powdered donuts English muffins bagels a few selections of cereal coffee rag/unleaded 2% milk and orange juice not the Ritz by any means but all of this for 59.99 a night for two off-season (64.79 with tax) you cant beat the value. May be cheaper too if you a AAA or AARP members. I will stay there again.

One more note if you are from out of town some of the suggested things to do in the lobby or in the rooms welcome folder are a distance away like 2 or more hours of a drive so just make sure you know the distance before you plan on going out on a spontaneous trip.

My boyfriend and I were going to go leaf-peeping and at the last minute, decided to spend the night in Franconia, NH so we wouldn't have to drive back to Boston at night. Unfortunately, all the rooms were either booked or extremely expensive. We decided to search nearby areas and after looking at TripAdvisor, the Coos Inn seemed like a good choice. It really was. In a town that looked to have a population of about 1000 this place was a nice refuge for us. The room we stayed in was large and comfortable with cable tv, a table with two chairs, a small couch and a very large vanity.

We woke up late so did not get to check out the free continental breakfast (although we did manage to snag a few donuts and juice) but the staff was very nice.

One thing about this place though is that it is out in the country - we did not get ANY cell phone reception while we were there or in the surrounding areas. BUT if you bring your laptop, there is free WiFi. All in all, I think the Coos Motor Inn is the best thing Lancaster, NH has to offer.

Stayed 3 nights. Nicest, cleanest in area. Right on Main Street- can walk to restaurants & shops. Front desk more than helpful- went out of way to take messages for us while we were out, gave lots of advice on area, friendly. Gave us 2 person rate even though we had 3 adults. All interior corridors. Did not hear one noise from inside or outside. Rooms very large, and we had 3 adults in one room. Good continental breakfast. $59 night.

Needed an overnight on the way home to Maine with husband and dog. They gave us a discount for AARP, but we had to pay $10 for dog. Still - we got a non-smoking room that was three times bigger (no exaggeration) than one we stayed at the week before down the road - this one was clean and safe and quiet (unlike the previous) and also included continental breakfast with toasted bagels, muffins, juice, coffee, etc. Very efficient desk personnel also.

I was driving to Bethel, Maine and it was getting kind of late, so I stopped at a random motel. It turned out to be the Coos Motor Inn. The room was new, large, clean, and there was free wifi. What more could I want?
