We stayed at the margate on september 5th, we were going to the B.B king concert. We paid an outrages amount of money, around 300.00 for a lake view room. The room was small, out dated, and there was a small window with a jail like bar acrossed it, the bed was no where near the small window. We had asked the front desk if they would
call us a taxi so we wouldnt have to drive. They said they called one " but " 55 min later we were still waiting! We ended up taking our own car. I have stayed in much cleaner, nicer motel room's that cost 59.00 a nite. I will never stay at the Margate again! The amount of money we paid for that small room right next to the ( maid's ) room should have come with 5 nite's and full breakfast.

We stayed at the Margate "Resort" the weekend of August 6th. We booked a "deluxe lakeview room". Well, we had a view of the lake from the little prison-sized window which was at the other end of the room and not near the bed. I personally like to have a window or balcony near the bed so I can see and/or hear the water at night. This room (and its non-existent amenities) was totally misrepresented on its website. It would have been a decent room, if it was $100 less per night, but it was not worth it for t the price we paid for a lakeview room with no decent view of the lake. It did not even have a coffemaker or water bottles in the room. They had a continental breakfast, but we would have had to leave OUR building and go over to the MAIN building to enjoy it. If you go and stay there, just get a regular room. Forget the extra price for a lakeview room. You won't have much of a view. You'll be better of going to the beach bar and enjoying the view from there. One good thing, they have a great bartender at the beach bar. I have forgotten his name, but he knows who he is. Also, don't waste your money on the jetskis at the "resort." Go down the street about a mile. They are much cheaper to rent. For the price of a deluke lakeview room, you would think the price of the water toys would be discounted. The resort is just an overpriced motel. I would not recommend it for the prices they charge.
