Portions were huge...not a place for someone on a diet.

O's was our go-to place in the Lakes Region and a refreshing change from the Common Man family of restaurants. We used to like their sister-restaurant Canoe in Center Harbor, but have been driven away by horrendous service. In any case, we'd been enticing our friends to join us at O's, but - what a disappointment! The service was bizarre - one minute rushing our appetizers out, then a huge wait for dinner, with no explanation or apology. Maybe our server was inexperienced, but the place did not seem busy enough to warrant her air of frenzy. On the plus side, you can't go wrong with their potato chip and blue cheese appetizer. Of the other apps we tried: short rib and blue cheese flatbread was too sweet and saucy, just a bad flavor combination; the shrimp toast was bland and uninspired; the fried oysters Rockefeller are usually good, but were deemed less than fresh by our companions. The Kobe beef burger seems to be a good option for dinner, and in the past, I have enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass, but the overall experience was bad to the point of embarrassing. There is a moment while dining out when the accumulation of small insults starts to overwhelm whatever good feeling has been generated, and we passed that point early in the evening. In the end, you feel that you've wasted your time and your money. I guess we'll go back to Lemongrass, or just eat in.

Wonderful atmosphere, great food and very attentive staff. A great place for family, friends or business meetings. O's has it all.
