Our kids (age 9, 8, and 4) said it had everything they needed. They had freedom to explore the nooks and closets and find games and movies. They were able to go to their rooms and back without supervision. The rooms were comfortable. It is an old house that has a lot of its original structure still intact, even original wallpaper in the pantry. We got there late at night and were directed by the owner to hot chocolate and tea in the living room. Coffee was available with home made muffins and scones early in the morning and breakfast was home made quiche on day 1 and french toast on day 2.

This is a very nice B&B in a nicely restored 1896 Victorian farm house. I chose to stay here for business in Berlin because all other lodging in the area included at least one scary review. This place had dozens of very positive reviews and I understand why. It is a charming place; clean and safe. Nice rooms, good mattresses, private baths, great breakfast and polite hosts. I really liked the having a clean, safe place to stay with WiFi and a good breakfast. I suppose the worst thing, if I had to pick something, is squeaky wood floors. But the place was nearly empty when we stayed there, so noise was not a problem. I would definitely recommend the place and would certainly stay there again. Great lodging at a great price.

The Jefferson Inn is on the north side of the White Mountains, off the beaten path, with nice views of the Presidential Range. Most of the food options are in other towns, but the drive is enjoyable -- well paved backroads with great views of the mountains to the south. (Take Rt. 116 to Lancaster in late fall when the skies are clear. You'll get fantastic views of snow-covered Mount Washington and neighboring peaks). We stayed in the Monticello room. It's a nice first-floor room with lots of windows looking out through the front porch. The bathroom appears to be newly renovated with a two-person jacuzzi tub. Plenty of water pressure and lots of hot water. The queen size bed is very firm and we were worried that we wouldn't sleep very well; but in the morning we both were surprised how well we had slept. Our only complaint would be that the walls (or doors?) are thin and you can hear your neighbors talking at normal volume. This wasn't a problem for us, but if our neighbors had been noisy and stayed up late, then it might have been a different story. The breakfast was delicious -- a small bowl of fresh fruit and French toast toped with cooked cinnamon apples and cranberries. Mmmm. Overall, we are happy we discovered the Jefferson Inn and hope to return at some point in the future. Staying there introduced us to the nice little towns north of the White Mountains and it's only a short drive away from the many trails leading up the northern Presidential mountains (and easier mountains nearby).

Eric and Gwen welcomed four families with young children and provided a wonderful home away from home. The rooms were spacious, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was enjoyable and served quickly, and it was easy to feel at home in the common rooms. Our hosts went above and beyond when they arranged a campfire and s'mores for the kids (all 11 of them). The accommodations provided the foundation for a wonderful weekend getaway.
