“Beautiful quintessential New England inn.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2012

The Wentworth in Jackson, NH outside of North Conway is a beautiful and romantic getaway. We stayed in a building next to the main inn; the room had a fireplace and spa tub. When we first arrived the heat and fireplace were not working, but that was quickly remedied while we were at dinner. One thing that really stuck out in a negative way was a large, dirty spot on the carpet in the bedroom; I wanted to go get some carpet cleaner and clean it myself! I was surprised that they did not pay attention to this detail when preparing the room. Other than that it was very comfortable. We ate breakfast the next morning in the main inn; it was included in our room price and was quite excellent. I had the french toast and fruit, my husband had eggs and meat which he said was also very good.
One warning; don't bother using a GPS to find the Inn; ours took us about 15 min past the hotel up a mountain road that eventually deadended. When we mentioned it to the front desk, they said "oh, that happens all the time. You can't use a GPS to find us". Kind of irritating b/c we had called to book and it would have been quite easy for them to mention this to us. Or, at the very least, add it to their website. Anyway, the entire experience was positive and I would recommend the Wentworth.

Room Tip: The rooms with the fireplace and spa tub are great!

Thank you so much for your recent visit to The Wentworth and for sharing your review with the readers of Trip Advisor. We were pleased to read that you enjoyed your stay and that you would recommend our hotel. I assure you we will rectify that stain on the carpet in your guest room immediately and get that cleaned and I apologize that it was not done prior to your arrival as it should have been. We also appreciate you bringing up the GPS issue - we do have on our web site on our directions page that once you reach Jackson Village or are driving by The Wentworth and the GPS is telling you that you have five miles to go to stop and ignore the GPS. Their directions actually take you on the five mile loop up and around Jackson Village and back to The Wentworth - which is a lovely drive during the day if one would want to take such a scenic drive, but at night time when all you want to do is check in it is not so fun. There is one inn in Jackson that the GPS directions try to direct you to Mount Washington! We have been trying to get this issued resolved for quite some time now so it is great that it is now on Trip Advisor and hopefully future guests will read your review and this response and we can save some people from this extended journey to The Wentworth.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience and we look forward to welcoming you back in the very near future.
Sincerely
Ellie Koeppel

We stayed here while attending a 50th wedding anniversary locally. We did not utilize the restaurant, but other couples said it was excellent. Our room was very clean and adequate and the desk staff were all very pleasant. This is a nice location if you like to walk around this quaint town and not have to take your car out of the parking lot. The sidewalk provides a nice level loop of about a mile including a trip through the famous Kissing Bridge over the Ellis River.

Just returned from a weekend getaway, which was very relaxing. The Inn was nice, but could use updating. I felt our room was nice, and very large, but the wood paneling, bathroom and TV were dated and the bed just okay.

We loved the breakfasts, and the dinners were good, but nothing special. Also, the piano singer at night is a nice idea, but it makes it extremely dated as well. He made it seem like an older age Inn.

I would give the staff 5 stars. Everyone works very hard to make your stay as welcoming as possible.

Thank you very much for your recent visit to The Wentworth and we were pleased to read that overall you enjoyed your stay and your nice recognition of our great staff is appreciated. I am sorry to read that you found our Arden deluxe rooms a bit dated - I do agree that the TVs are, it is amazing how in such a few short years since we renovated those rooms that technology has changed and we are increasingly switching all of our rooms over to flat screen TVs.
Thank you again for your visit and for providing us with this feedback.

We came here a couple of years ago to just dine and thought it would be a great place to stay. Wel,l this past November 9,10 and 11 we stayed here. What a lovely place this was ! Old charm, comfortable rooms, and helpful staff made the stay wonderful! The rooms were clean and tastefully decorated. The beds were very comfortable and the room heated up nicely after a cold day outside. It's close enough to shopping and other activities but far enough from the crowds and traffic. We had the breakfast and dinner package and were extremely pleased with both. The 4 course meals offered were of the finest quality. The chef should be commended! Breakfast was so much that you never walked away hungry. The wait staff was very attentive and helpful with choices. You can tell that the staff enjoy working here. We would highly recommend this place to others or maybe we will keep it our secret!!!!!

Room Tip: All rooms in the main Inn are very quiet and the plus side is that you don't have to leave the I...

Jackson is a very small town of 800 residents but because of its proximity to the mountains the resorts there are big and made to cater to the ski crowd. The breakfast, which was included in our package, was set in a lovely dining room with a roaring fireplace and a wonderful view of the mountains. The hotel is old and could use a bit of updating, but I got the impression of a gracious old lady. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Jackson Falls is the main attraction in Jackson town.

We went to the Wentworth to attend a wedding and stayed two nights. It is a quaint New England Inn and has a nice old fashioned atmosphere. The room was small with a large bathroom and quite comfortable.. On Friday night, we were served a delicious surf and turf dinner. On Saturday night we were given a choice of chicken, beef, of vegetarian. Both Saturday and Sunday, breakfast came with the room. The food at the Wentworth is delicious. I love eating out at breakfast and the inn has a great one--there is a continental breakfast spread and you can also order from a large selection off the menu, so you will not go hungry. I am a huge dog lover and the Wentworth has a cutie named Annie on staff and it was great seeing her walking around. The staff, waiters, bartenders, and housekeeping are all very friendly!!!. Had a wonderful weekend.

Room Tip: There are rooms in the inn, other rooms on the property with hot tubs, condos, and cabins so make su...

This is a lovely old hotel that has been refurbished in the recent past. We stayed in a room in the main Inn. It was very comfortable, quiet and clean. The beds are great. Just what we wanted after a day of shopping in North Conway.
Everyone there was pleasant and helpful, especially our waiter on Tuesday night. He made us feel very special, and even put our desserts in a plastic container so we could eat them in our room later in the evening. We were absolutely stuffed after a wonderful 4 course dinner.
The restaurant is outstanding, and I would recommend taking the meal plan with your room. You will not find a better dinner anywhere in the area. I have been coming to Jackson NH for many years on various occasions and I can honestly say the food at the Wentworth is excellent.
