“Really nice...”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Our family stayed one night in April and actually had a good time. We chose the place really as we were passing through on the way to somewhere else and the read-up's from TripAdvisor were good. I'd like to add that we had a lovely stay. We got a very good deal through Groupon, but not sure I would feel the same had I paid the rack rate.

The place is located on the main route through the town, and our room was at the back so we couldn't hear the road at all. We were on the ground floor and the room opened out onto the back garden and 10 seconds walk down to the river. There is a play area for kids and a tennis court as well, but neither were used due to snow....

The place has a lovely welcoming feel to it, and the staff are incredibly welcoming. I had a good chat with the owner who was more than keen to tell me about the neighbourhood, the attractions, where to go and so on. He has a pride in his locality like none other! We had just been skiing and he said that if we returned in the season he could help us get discounts at the two local mountains (not too far away at all) and so on.

The hotel has a lovely little room called the gathering place with books and toys / games for the kids which has a lovely quaint little charm.

I was a little annoyed that they only put breakfast on at the weekend though - the cereals / toaster etc are out all week. Surely the cost of putting some bread and milk out daily isn't going to break the bank. That said, we did go to a little deli over the road for breakfast which was amazing!

The room we stayed in was large and had a nice bathroom too (although we did notice some ants in the bathroom). The toiletries were of good quality. Within the room there was an ice bucket and fridge as well as a small ironing board and iron and a haridryer.

The TV was large - it had direcTV and a DVD player.

The bed was very comfortable - we had a twin room and no complaints from either bed!

There was also a bottle of apple cider in the room. I had no idea if it were complimentary or not.

15 minutes away is the shopping town of North Conway should you wish to get some retail therapy in. 5 minutes down the road is StoryLand - which was closed. The location of the lodge is very amenable to lots of places - it is opposite the Wentworth public golf club too. Jackson itself is very pretty. The waterfalls are magnificent and I would recommend you take the 5 minute drive up to look back over the valley to Mount Washington.

I think I would stay again.

We stayed at the Lodge over the Easter weekend (March 2013) and it was incredible. Simple staff who are always willing to help with restaraunts, things to do in the area - including hiking, skiing, etc. The rooms are fantastically clean, well maintained. The view from the rooms on one side is just amazing - a stream with mountains in the backdrop - BEAUTIFUL. The lodge also has a large and well appointed fireplace room on the first floor. You can sit there at night and read a selection of novels, local Jackson history books, white mountain guides, or you could play some board games. All of this in front of a working fireplace with no dearth of fire-wood.

There is something for everyone within 20 minutes drive of this lodge. Great restaraunts, bakeries, waterfalls, hiking paths and ski resorts. The staff will go out of their way to help you out - we even got snow shoes to go hiking.

Their breakfast is all home made - something for everyone!

I brought our two sons up for a long weekend skiing at Wildcat and was looking for a reasonable place to stay that was relatively close to Wildcat with a good proximity to North Conway. We got two well priced adjoining rooms and were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable they were. The room amenities were excellent and the next morning when we came out to the lobby for breakfast we were overwhelmed. The food quality was outstanding and the selection was terrific. The atmosphere in the lobby is very inviting and on Sunday morning, the adjacent great room, they had a terrific fire going in the fieldstone fireplace. The owners put a great deal of care and thoughtfulness into running the lodge. They genuinely want you to be happy. We will be back.

From the website and comments we thought we would be in a nice place to spend a long weekend. The room was clean but worn out-ripped,distressed peeling wallcovering, matted carpet, very noisy heater, basic hard beds and bedding, basic white paint and furnishings, nothing like photos. The "breakfast" was bagels, cereal, or a pudding dish with 2 oz cups for juice to be eaten in a cold great room with no fire-in had greenery in it,not used obviously. Now comes the worst for us-almost no soundproofing on ceilings,we enjoyed kids jumping on first night and next morning,"just walking" the next day.Don't call yourself what your not.We blew over $200 and a rare weekend off

Room Tip: Don,t be on first floor

I took the chance to try to bond with a teenage daughter. We found Jackson lodge to be the perfect setting and the perfect hosts.

We skied for four days while treating ourselves to delightful fresh baked pastries and cakes for breakfast. The innkeepers track the weather and conditions at all the local ski resorts. They spent the time to tell us about the various mountains and what they have to offer. Best part, we know where the snow was and were it was going to be.

Loved that they have an ample refrigerator in the rooms to store provisions we needed to make lunches for our ski trip, or will use to store provisions for the hiking that is amazing in this area.

Dana and Cathi our warm and kind people that create a wonderful atmosphere and have a lovely presence. Really nice to find an affordable place, at a great destination that has character and charm..

We just returned from a 2 night stay at the Lodge at Jackson Village. We purchased the trip through Living Social and got a good deal, but we weren't sure what to expect. We stayed in March 2013.

It's a small, two story inn, and has a similar vibe to a B&B. It's family owned and operated (family lives on site) and has a nice kitchen area with coffee/tea and a large den with fireplace and games, toys, etc. We stayed on the first floor in room 10.

We had a queen sized bed and a double bed. The room was VERY spacious, with a small loveseat, table and two chairs, dressers, etc. There is also a small dorm fridge which is a nice perk. Although the furnishings were slightly dated, it is very clean and well taken cared for. The room had a small seating area outside, which seems to be the norm for most rooms (although there was too much snow to utilize it).

Rooms on this side of the building have a nice mountain view-- but unfortunately they also look out onto the parking lot, which meant they we had to keep our shades closed the whole time. Bedding/beds were fine, towels were ok, but the water pressure left much to be desired.

We were surprised by the continental beakfast in the morning-- there were some great blueberry muffins, coffee cake, etc. as well as mini bagels, cereals, and yogurt. You need to be up early though to get the best selection. The lodge does have an early check out time though at 10am, so be ready for that.

Overall, it was a good hotel and I would recommend it. We will definitely consider returning if we are back in the North Conway area. It's a good location inbetween Wildcat/Mt. Washington and North Conway center. Happy travels!

Room Tip: I would chose a room on the river side, not the valley. Valley side rooms overlook the parking lot a...

My boyfriend and I were looking for an affordable and cozy place to go to get away for the weekend. The Lodge at Jackson turned out to be better than we could have ever imagined.

The rooms were spacious, clean and filled with every ammenity you would need. The homemade breakfast was delicious and they also had snacks to grab if you were on the way out. The staff was extremely friendly and always offered their advice on great places to eat or new adventures to try. Skiing was phenomenal at Black Mountain. It was a great place to go if you are getting back into skiing. The lines were limited and the mountain faced the sun to keep you warm. For dinner, Thompson House Eatery was delicious. Be sure to ask the front desk to make a reservation if you are headed there on a weekend night.

The town was the perfect getaway with plenty to do and very little crowds. I can't wait to go back next year!
