The Lodge at Jackson Village is, according to one of its brochures, "a three-star hotel with the heart of a bed and breakfast." Both assertions are accurate. The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and in an ideal location for exploring the Mt. Washington Valley. It is not a luxury accommodation; those looking for higher end lodgings with valet parking and a day spa should look elsewhere.
What sets the hotel apart from others in its class is the inn-keeping of Cathi and her husband, Dana. Guests are treated to home-baked goods both on arrival and in the morning alongside a breakfast table of dry cereals, fruit, oatmeal, toast, orange juice, coffee, tea, etc. There is a common room with a fireplace and stacks of board games for rainy or snowy days. Books and DVDs are available upon request. For local knowledge, there is no better person to ask than Cathi, who is always at or near the front desk and knows the area like the back of her hand.
For those aiming to ski or snowboard, discounted lift tickets are available for Black Mountain, Cranmore, Attitash/Wildcat, and more. For those interested in cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, beautiful trails are literally steps away from the property. Nestlenook Farm is also very close by - a great place for families in the winter time.More
