“Quiet and comfortable”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

Me and my fiance stayed for a couple of nights during the mid week in late September. Very quiet, clean and comfortable. Wonderful staff. Proximity was perfect so I could go hiking for the day and she went shopping at Settlers Green, only about 12 miles away. Nice rooms, jacuzzi tub was a plus and electric fireplace was nice. Disappointed that breakfast is only on the weekends but the homemade cookies and cider was nice.

Room Tip: rooms with patio/balcony near river

Very enjoyable stay here-clean generous sized room, love overlooking the peaceful river! Breakfast is wonderful & the staff is helpful and accommodating! Can't beat the location either for proximity to Storyland, North Conway etc.

Our family of five (6 year old twin boys and 2 year old daughter) has stayed at the Lodge for the last 2 years and it is such a warm and comfortable place. It is like staying with friends and family rather than at a hotel. They are kid friendly (while many local inns and B & Bs in the Jackson area are not). Our kids especially like the play equipment in the back, the pool and the great room with games, toys, puzzles, etc. The breakfast in the morning was perfect for us. There was something for everyone - cereal, delicious baked goods, fruit, etc. The Lodge is in a great location, too. Very convenient to Storyland, Jackson Falls, Attitash, North Conway attractions, etc. The staff is especially friendly and helpful! My son lost his favorite stuffed animal while we were there, and the Lodge staff did everything possible to find him. They continued looking for him even after we left. Shortly after we got home, we received an e-mail from the Lodge that they had found the stuffed animal. A few days later, they sent him home to my son with a nice note. Throughout our week-long stay, the Lodge staff were very helpful with general info about Jackson, places to eat, visit, hikes, etc. Overall, beautiful grounds and views, great staff, clean/nice room, kid-friendly, great location and affordable.

We just spent the weekend here to celebrate my husbands bday. I cant even tell you how clean this room was. I dont like staying in hotels because usually they are not very clean. This is an exception, and was so very clean. The view from our room facing the river was beautiful, and we opened the slider at night and could hear the rushing of the water, so very nice. My only regret is that we didnt come a few weeks later because the grounds and the surrounding mts must be beautiful in the fall folliage! The homemade pasteries in the am and the cookies in the afternoon were perfect "at home" touches. It is a hotel, but the warmth and the furnishings felt like an inn. We would love to go back again. Ps the staff was so very friendly also.

Room Tip: loved the king size bed facing the river, balcony was awesome. stayed in rm 21

Our family of four (4 & 2 year old children) recently stayed at the Lodge for our first family vacation this past August. We loved it and plan to go back again. The grounds are beautiful and we really enjoyed the crystal clear river right beside the hotel. The homemade breakfast was excellent and it was great that we could eat right there before heading out on our days adventures. The maple bread pudding was a favorite with all of our family members and we have even make it at home. The hotel is close to lots of great attractions. We did Storyland, the Wildcat Mountain gondola, the Conway Scenic Railroad, visited Glen Ellis Falls, Jackson Falls and Diana's Baths, to name a few - all so close to the hotel and easy to get to. The room we had was very clean and spacious and the owners were so friendly and helpful. We had lots of hummingbirds come right to our back patio door to the feeder. Kids enjoyed the pool as well. If you have kids, eat at the Red Fox and Glen Junction restaurants - very good. Thanks for a memorable first family vacation!

Room Tip: Bottom floor with walkout patio facing the gardens and river was beautiful!

THis is a lovely hotel with some features of the nicer B&Bs (great breakfast spread!) and good hotels (heated pool, tennis courts, lovely grounds, with convenience of a motel (parked right outside our room).
Owners and hotel staff were very engaging and helpful. Rooms were very clean, spacious, and had all the conveniences. Quite an excellent deal for a long weekend away with a location very close to Storyland - reason we came. Grandkids loved the pond with the frogs!
I would stay here again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it!

We spent 5 wonderful nights at the Lodge, and loved every minute.

Jackson is a great base from which to explore the White Mountains, but is also a beautiful village in its own right, and we spent one of the nicest afternoons of our holidays at Jackson Falls, where it is possible to rest and read or swim in the pools while admiring the fabulous view.

Dana and Cathi are excellent hosts, and along with their family and all the staff at the Lodge, they provided the warmest of welcomes and ensured we were looked after throughout our stay. The hotel is spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The gardens and swimming pool are beautiful - we loved sitting by the pool and watching the hummingbirds at the feeders - and we really enjoyed the chance to play a few games of tennis on the court - rackets and balls provided.

The breakfast is a real treat, and we loved all of Cathi's home-baked goodies, as well as the bonus of cookies in the afternoon.

There are several places to eat nearby, but we settled on the Shannon Door Pub just over the road for some really enjoyable evenings, with excellent entertainment and delicious food.

The Lodge is a small piece of paradise on earth, and we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.
