“foo foo food”
Reviewed July 8, 2009

if you enjoy eating very tiny food on extremely large plates then this place is for you.... my appetizer consisted of ONE shrimp on a small square thing the size of an ice cube. it was amazingly delicious so one was but a tease. the plate my duck arrived on was as big as a boat and the food was completely lost on the plate! picture one peanut on a large dinner plate...that's what it looked like!! it was very tasty but dear god, for the money you're charging, give the peolple more than 2 bites!! it wasn't nearly enough food.... i had to go out to eat after dinner. i guess its fine dining but in a very snooty way....i call it foo foo food. and i'm not too proud to say i'd rather eat somewhere where the duck place consists of at least 1/2 the duck!!!

During the month of July, we found ourselves in the unfortunate situation of losing our chef beginning a search for his replacement. As prior comments will note, we have adjusted the food and portion sizes in the restaurant considerably, solely at the requests of our frequent guests. That being said, we do still begin each meal in our dining room with the traditional 'amuse bouche' which is, indeed, a small bite given by the chef to get the palate working before first courses are brought. Often, if not questioned, or if our servers forget to remind, the guest interprets this as the first course of their meal, which it is not.

Our new Chef, Peter Belmonte, has been in residence since August, and has been addressing issues within the restaurant to ensure our guests' opinions are heard and attended to. We truly hope that all our past guests give the new menus a try when next in the area.

“Wonderful Dinner and Excellent Service”
Reviewed May 20, 2009

My husband and I enjoyed our 8th Anniversary dinner at the Inn. It was wonderful in every way. Sarah, our server, was very friendly and professional. Attentive without being intrusive, and a dead ringer for Jodie Foster! The food was the best dinner we have had in a long time. I had aged beef tenderloin and an asparagus salad and my husband had the soft shell crab. The chocolate duo dessert was also excellent (a bit of a wait - but worth it) as was their extensive wine list. We had been a bit concerned about going on a Monday night as most Executive Chef's take off that night but we found the food to be of excellent quality. Highly recommend it.

“Warm, comfortable evening”
Reviewed March 8, 2009

My wife and I went for dinner in the lounge as there were no reservations available in the dining room. The night was cold but the fire was roaring and the chairs were comfortable and we were being entertained with smooth, relaxing piano music. The decor is tasteful and the food was very good if a bit pricey. Overall it was a great experience. I would definitely return.

“Add it to your list.....”
Reviewed December 16, 2008

We are so lucky to have a place like the lounge at the Inn to sit and visit with friends! We sampled a wonderful new winter menu complete with a Thursday night oyster special, fish tacos, and lots of other hearty "stick to your bones" selections. Don't miss this one. Great food- Great staff!!!

“Excellent anniversary dinner”
Reviewed September 27, 2008

We had the best anniversary meal at the Inn at Thorn Hill. Simply outstanding. I had the sirloin and my husband had the lamb which was cooked to perfection. We received very attentive service and our waitress was an absolute delight. As an added touch, we were presented with two chocolate truffles with a happy anniversary message as part of the presentation at the end of our meal. We were so impressed that we plan on staying at the inn during our next visit to the area. Thank you Thorn Hill for making our 2nd anniversary a memorable one!
