“Don't go there, even under desperate circumstances.”
Reviewed February 28, 2012

My daughter had a ski race at Wildcat and we booked Dana Place based on memory of having driven past it, the pictures on-line and the fact they included breatkfast. The pictures online are a joke, especially of the pool which was half covered while we were there. When we checked in at 8:30 p.m. on a Saturday night we waited about ten minutes before anyone even noticed we were there. The desk receptionist was in the kitchen for the one customer eating at the bar. In fact the customer eating at the bar initiated calling outloud for the desk receptionist on our behalf. After that we were assigned a run down two bedroom suite down a few long hall ways. While bringing in the few belongings we had for a one night visit there was a dog barking in the next room over our quite commotion. When we checked in they said breakfast is between 6 and 9. Perfect for us because we had to leave the hotel by 7. At 6:30 I ambled my way down a few hallways to see if I could find a coffee. No one was around nor was the resturant open. I went to the room and got ready and went back to the lobby around 7:05, still no one around, we had to leave. There is no restuarant or store between Dana Place Inn and Wildcat Ski resort so we could not get anything to eat. Wildcat cafetaria did not open until 8:00 a.m. I had to send my daughter out to slip the course and to race without any breakfast. As a high level athlete by the time my daughter came in from the mountain and unfortunately she was really sick all day from not eating. Give it up Dana Place.

“A step above the norm”

Good selection, perfectly cooked food, knowledgeable service. Better than most of the other restaurants we tried in the area.

“Best value and Family Friendly”
Reviewed August 4, 2011

Stayed here for 3 nights and still did not have enough time to do everything. The food and service excellent. The grounds were peaceful and relaxing. The place is a little dated but has that country cottage feel that is very "charming". If you are looking for a hotel like atmosphere- this is not your place. But, if you are looking for a "home away from home"- this is your place. We will defiantly be back for another visit. Storyland is about 5 min from the Inn and the package deal was a great value.

“Charming Inn with lots of extras”
Reviewed July 7, 2011

We stayed in New Englad for two weeks in the summer and this was by far the best place we stayed. The Inn is charming and has tons of extras - a library with books and toys for the kids, tubes for swimming in the river, great river trails and access, bikes for riding around. The staff is fabulous and have great recommendations for local attractions. The location is ideal - next to the river in a peaceful setting and just a short drive to local hikes and Storyland. The breakfast is also amazing, I can still taste the blueberry pancakes. I can't remember the last time you could order from a menu from a 'breakfast included' place.

“Worth a visit”
Reviewed February 25, 2011

We spent a weekend at the Dana Place Inn and had a great time. The winter package was a good deal. It is an older place but that just gives it a lot of character. It was clean and the food was very good. A highlight of our visit was the wonderful piano lady Lorraine who entertained us both Fri & Sat night during wine and cheese time and dinner. She played nonstop and was very delightful. We also appreciated Robin, who went out of her way to be helpful. We plan to stay here again.
