This is an excellent restaurant. We ate here on Christmas evening and we liked it so well we went back the next day. They have a few different dining rooms. One has a nice fireplace for a cozy setting. There is one in a bar area with tables and a couple of other rooms. The first evening we sat in a room at the front part of the building. They specialized in wood fired offerings. Most things are wood fired. The first night I had the Village burger. It was really good. It tasted as if it was made on your own home grill but better. I had the New England Clam Chowder both nights. It was some of the best I had ever had. The 2nd night I had a pick two dinner. I got steak tips and shrimp. You got two big pieces of steak tips that had been seasoned. Also three big shrimp that had been woodfired on a skewer. It was wonderful! The service both nights was very good to excellent. The girl the first night was new and you could tell. But overall she was good and attentive enough. The lady the 2nd night was excellent. Very courteous and attentive with everything. The pricing was slightly high but not really much above average for this type of restuarant. If you are looking for a good sit down dinner with excellent food and good atmosphere in the White Mountains this is the place to go.
