Our innkeepers at The Lodge at Jackson Village, Dana and Cathi Belcher, arranged for our family to take a moonlight sleigh ride at the Estate and it was wonderful! The gardens full of Victorian gazebos and statuary were all decked out in literally thousands of white lights that made the winding garden paths glow. Roaring bonfires with cozy benches provided a place to warm up, toast marshmallows and sip hot cocoa. We snuggled under firry blankets in a gorgeous Austrian sleigh pulled by two beautiful horses festooned with tinkling sleigh bells as the friendly driver took us along a long route around the gardens, through the wooded areas lit by kerosene lanterns and over the bridge spanning their famous ice skating lake. It was like something out of a Currier and Ives picture post card! The scuttlebutt was that the last ride of the night was reserved for someone who intended to propose to his love there in the romantic gardens - we were all rooting for him! We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
