We had buffet breakfast one morning-quite pricey but was adequate for my family. We had to order toast and the service was not very good -it came in after we were almost done. The older lady in charge of 'made to order eggs' was pretty efficient.

Our server was nice the food was good. Our apps took a while to come out, and our server said we could get a free dessert. The only problem was we sat at the table with empty glasses for a half hour waiting for the free dessert. I would have gladdly paid for one if we didnt have to wait.

Stayed here one night whilst on a self-drive holiday. Situated a little out of town with great views. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Dining room was immense and very busy, wished we had eaten in the bar, which was an option as this would have felt more relaxing. Our room was enormous, with a separate sitting area and bedroom, which were separated by the en-suite. Overall a great experience.

We stopped here for the 2 for $25 deal they offer on weeknights. We went in late April and we practically had the whole place to ourselves. The food was good and dessert was too. The views on the drive up were awesome. The mountain views that surround the old hotel are beautiful and set this place apart. After trying the restaurant and seeing the location, I would love to try a stay at the hotel. It's quiet seclusion seem very relaxing.

Last evening, we enjoyed dinner at Eagle Landing Restaurant, next to Highfields Tavern at the Eagle Mountain House (est. 1879) in Jackson, NH. They offer a TWO-fer on certain nights, and it well worth it for you to take advantage of this value. We both chose the London Broil. There was an up-charge for this, although I am puzzled as to why. The meal was average to above average, but certainly not worth the up-charge. The ambiance of an old wooden hotel in the mountains is charming and the views are spectacular. However, there was a musty odor which pervaded the entire dining room - perhaps they need to do a total cleaning and carpet shampooing, and the sooner the better. Olden days charm should not overshadow a pleasant dining experience, where the odor just does not disappear. Our server also told us to give it another try, because we have a new chef and we are not us how long he will last! What an endorsement!
