“Great, clean, friendly, comfortable accommodation with delicious breakfasts!”
Reviewed October 27, 2010

We stayed at the Inn on Golden Pond for 3 nights in October 2010. We found the Inn keepers, Bonnie and Bill to be friendly, welcoming and helpful. The Inn was clean and pretty with comfortable, spacious rooms, and warm welcoming living spaces. The breakfasts were generous and delicious, and the location handy to walking trails, local towns and restaurants and beautiful scenery. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back there again, and we are very happy to recommend this Inn to other travellers.

My wife and I were looking for a great place to spend one last fairly warm weekend cruising the area on our motorcycle, and we love the area ariound the lakes region. Right from the greeting from Bill in the driveway, and Bonnie meeting my wife in the foyer, we knew this would be a fantastic weekend. It certainly was... Bonnie cooks up "5 star" breakfasts every morning in the dining room. Both Bill and Bonnie worked the crowd and got the guests to engage in conversation, and talk about plans for the day. We had folks from London, Texas, and Newport RI, to name just a few locations. We felt welcomed, and we would most certainly go back again, hopefully in the very near future. The Inn was charming, unique, and had that quintesential NE flair and the smell of the fresh coffee brewing, which wafted uop to the third floor, made getting out of bed each morning a delight! Thanks Bill and Bonnie, you and your Inn are first rate in our book!

We stayed at The Inn on Golden Pond for two nights in September 2010 during a two week touring visit to New England.
This accommodation was the best we experienced during our trip, in no small way due to the charming and enjoyable hospitality offered by our hosts Bill & Bonnie.
Our room was large, bright and very tastefully decorated, the breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
We will certainly vist Bill & Bonnie again if we take another trip to New Hampshire.

Centrally located to the area and beautifully kept cozy country style B&B. Bonnie and Bill were a delight as our hosts during a wedding weekend. I certainly hope to be back!

I seldom take time to write a review. We stayed several days at The Inn on Golden Pond in New Hampshire and feel everyone should know that this was a great B & B Inn. A fine location just a short drive from the White Mountains. Bonny & Bill are wonderful hosts and most willing to take the time to pass on great ideas for touring. We highly endorse the Inn on Golden Pond and advise anyone planning a stay in the lakes area of N.H. to stay a few days with some great hosts and fine folks. John & Heidi from Maryland.

Early in our marriage, my wife and I took many trips to B&Bs. Over time and traveling with our kids, hotels became the easy choice. This year, we decided to return to our B&B roots and we chose an old favorite for our wedding anniversary: The Inn on Golden Pond. We had traveled there a few times as a young married couple over 20 years ago. We loved it the first few times we went in the 1980s. Going back again in 2010: more of the same magic. Beautiful home. Wonderful hosts in Bonnie and Bill. Great food, great company. So many areas close by to tour and hike. Our favorite daily activity was simply grabbing a bottle of wine and sitting in the backyard Adirondack chairs while we talked and took in the beautiful scenery and nature at the Inn. We had some quiet time with Bonnie and Bill where we simply shared in our adventures and our families over the past twenty plus years. I can only hope it won't take another 20 years to get back. What a wonderful trip and what a wonderful return to "Our Inn". It was great in the 1980s. I think it's even better in 2010. Still magic...

Kevin and I stayed at the Inn on Golden Pond for a wedding. The Inn's website and online booking option was very easy to navigate. We were able to find our room and availability quite easily. The Inn was priced more reasonably that the other bed and breakfast establishments in the area. The drive from the NYC area took about 6.5 hours (traffic on Friday afternoon, plus we stopped for a 45-minute lunch in western MA).
Upon our arrival, Bonnie greeted us at the front door, completed our registration, and gave us a tour of the home. She let us know of the various ins and outs of the home (breakfast times, entering after dark, guest refrigerator, etc.) and showed us to our room. We had reserved the Bear Den (the only room on the third floor, lovely sitting area, private bathroom, spacious bedroom, king-sized bed), views of the rear of the property away from the road). After Kevin and I unpacked, we headed downstairs to the living room to look through the restaurant book for a place for dinner. Bill was very helpful with anything that had to do with local attractions, eateries, and sights. After dinner, Kevin and I returned to the Inn, enjoyed a bottle of wine in our room, and slept quite well.
The next day started well with Bonnie's wonderful breakfast. That morning we were treated to baked French toast, fresh wheat bread for toasting, homemade muffins, teas, coffees, juice, and homemade marmalade. After breakfast, Bill directed us to a lovely private location to go swimming in Big Squam Lake. We returned to the Inn, readied ourselves for the wedding, and returned to our rooms late Saturday evening. Sunday morning's breakfast was just what we needed! Bonnie had made a delicious baked egg and sausage casserole, fresh white bread for toasting, muffins, coffees, teas, juice, and homemade jam. We went upstairs, packed our room, packed the car, and said our goodbyes to our new friends Bill and Bonnie. We took a quick hike up Rattlesnake Mountain before leaving for home.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Inn. Our room was very spacious and quiet. I would definitely recommend staying on one of the rooms on the third level - they tend to be a bit bigger. We were located about 1.65 miles outside of "downtown" Holderness. Kevin and I walked into town a few times, but it was about a 25 minute walk along the main road. I followed Bill's advice (posted on his website) about locating the Inn on our car's GPS, and I would urge you to do the same. Our cell phones didn't work on a consistent basis during our stay in NH (probably due to the mountains). The Inn has wireless internet (it's a bit slow, but it gets the job done) and has its own computer (very slow, but works if you don't bring your own). Kevin and I would definitely recommend the Inn on Golden Pond to anyone visiting Holderness.
