About 1.5 mile hike, all well groomed with rail road ties (tides)? Hmm, a nice walk, gentle incline, the best views for the amount of effort you need to put in. You can see for miles on a clear day. You may get lucky enough to see the bald eagle in flight, amazing! If you're in the area, take the time to enjoy the beauty it has to offer!

This is a fun local hike with a nice view at the end. Shoes/sneakers are fine, no boots needed. A tradition since who knows- it was there in the 60's when we did it first. Still fun. Bring your camera or phone for a pic on top.

I don't think I've ever done such a reasonable hike and been rewarded with an astounding view like West Rattlesnake offers. I did this climb in the winter and although parts were a little arduous with the 1 1/2 foot snow cover, the view at the top left me speechless. I can only imagine the summit is more crowded in the Summer, but it's definitely worth the trek no matter what.

Very easy hike, but breathtaking views from the top overlooking Squam Lake. Also Winnipesaukee can be seen on a clear day. Good winter hike as well

This is a "staircase" type of hike. Gradual climb to the top, then rewarded with stunning views of Squam Lake.
