My wife & I recently visited Hagan's Grill while staying in Hampton Beach, N.H. We choose Hagan's based on 3 solid TripAdvisor reviews and its proximity to Hampton Beach. Dining is available in in a small to medium sized dining room or in the bar area. The short story is the food was very good. The entrees were well thought out and & executed, but the service was a bit slow. Feel free to read on for the details.
We went on a Monday around 6:30 PM right before the restaurant filled up. We decided to sit in the dining room and we offered our choice of 2 romantic rear room corner tables. We started our meal with the lobster spring roll appetizer. It was served with a teriyaki glaze & fresh carrot slaw. For entrees we both selected nightly specials. I ordered the Blackened (Atlantic) Salmon which was served with a unique blueberry salsa, asparagus & rice. My wife ordered a seafood stuffed haddock with a tarragon cream sauce. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes and also came paired with asparagus. Both entrees were prepared perfectly and served hot, but not so ot you couldn't start enjoying them right away.
The hostess was very warm and was helping out the one server that seemed to be assigned to the dining room. The service was slow and disorganized which was a bit surprising because it did not see very busy when we first arrived. We asked for water when we placed our appetizer order. The hostess finally noticed the gaff and brought some over when were just about finished with our spring rolls. The bread basket we saw a few tables get never materialized either. Normally these things would have really annoyed me, but between the gracious hostess, the nice atmosphere and the excllent food, they became non-issues.
If you are in the area and have an opportunity, check out Hagan's Grill. Be forewarned, It can be a bit noisy once it fills up, but make no mistake it is a great little restaurant.
