My family (Wife & Daugther) have always stayed at the Ashworth; however, I procrastinated this year and there were no rooms available for the 3 nights/days we wanted to go. I remembered that the Kentville was right next door to the Ashworth, so I called them up and made reservations. We got a room on the 3rd floor (room #33, side view, facing the Ashworth), king bed. Room was clean, fridge, freezer, microwave, table and 2 chairs outside of sliding glass door. At the end of the deck, towards the beach, there were more community chairs/tables. Views were great, people were nice, and the Kentville feels a lot more like home than the Ashworth. I really enjoyed going down to the front deck, sitting in the rocking chair with a cold beer watching the people walk by. I'm not saying that it is better than the Ashworth, but I am saying that I prefer the Kentville over the Ashworth. Even though the stairs were a major pain in the butt, the view was well worth the climb!

Room Tip: For the best views pick ocean front or ocean view facing the Ashworth, if you aren't afraid of stairs pick the 3rd floor.

Stayed on the 2nd floor, what a view!!!!! Room was clean, hotel staff (Alison) was a pleasure!!! The room had every thing we needed. The location was perfect - close to everything - walking distance

Room Tip: South side has the best views

This hotel is all about location, it is right accross the street from the ocean. Rooms are small and ours only opened from the outside. It nseems more like a bed and breakfast, then a hotel. Rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. The large front porch has wonderful rocking chairs and tables. The flowers were pretty, but the place did need a paint job. Nice place to stay if the beach is your real destination!!

Room Tip: No pool, no restaurant, but plenty of places close to eat. They do have grills you can use and picnic tables you can use.

Stayed at the Kentville 4 times and have had a wonderful experience each time. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. Well kept , with flowers everywhere!!! The front porch is relaxing, with rocking chairs, and a beautiful ocean view, directly across from the beach. Coffee is provided each morning, and the staff is more than accomodating, they really make your stay pleasurable.

We fled from another hotel down the road (that would have gotten one star or less) so we were relieved that there was a vacancy at Kentville. The room was small and the furnishings dated, but you can't beat the view and the location. Our stay was during the famous Hampton Beach Seafood Festival in September and most of the area properties are fully booked. We found ourselves in the perfect location to walk to the festival, walk to breakfast, walk to other restaurants and basically did not have to drive anywhere during our stay. Since this beach is a state park, all of the lodging is across the street from the water. We had a small room and would have gotten a larger one if we had booked in advance. The staff at the front desk are very helpful and friendly and just a pleasure to be around. The rocking chairs on the veranda were always occupied with smiling happy guests and there seemed to be no bad views from any room. The room entrances in this area are from sliding glass doors that lead to wrap around balconies. Every guest house has a similar configuration with most having no interior hallways to the rooms. The mattress was probably the worst part of the whole thing. It may have been as old as the other furnishings. It appeared to be as clean as it could be, given the age of the surfaces and fabrics in the room.

Room Tip: Room # 6 had the center top balcony, a private roped off balcony area and an indoor entrance. It is possibly a special suite of some sort.
