“Beautiful and loved the detail”
Reviewed September 9, 2013

My husband and I only had two nights here but would have happily stayed longer. We were on a nostalgia trip visiting old family haunts in nearby Padstow and Trevone. Everything is beautifully arranged, yes it's a small site but that only adds to it. It is very peaceful, the tents (if you can even call them that really) are very well maintained and stocked and above all, comfortable. Neat lawns, lots of flowers, fairy lights look great at night (although the ones on our tent didn't work). Very modern and clean toilet/shower block and good location. Trying to convince others to come back with us!

Room Tip: One of the tents is a larger 5m tent for families.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. I am truly sorry the fairy lights were not working in your tent. Since your visit, we now make sure that the outside solar panel is turned on in the morning to charge up the solar panel, and when there is insufficient light we are now replacing the batteries with recharged batteries. I am so glad that overall you enjoyed your stay with us and we would be delighted if you visited us again.

We had a short break here for four nights at the end of August, and already thinking of our holiday here next year. The lotus belle tents are extremely roomy, with a comfy bed (and we're usually fussy), all bedding, a day bed, and table with four chairs. This is the ultimate in 'glamping'. The facilities at the sight are brilliant, always very clean and available. The area is really peaceful but just a short drive to get into Wadebridge or Padstow (it's worth queuing for Rick Stein's fish and chips, immense). The resident cat was a highlight for us, he is really friendly. Each tent gets it's own BBQ, and completely set up cooking area at the back of the tents in a kitchen tent. Avril has thought of everything, and everything has been well thought out. I cannot fault it at all. The price is also pleasantly surprising. We will be back!

Just spent 2 weeks as a family of 4. The accommodation was excellent - comfy beds and surprisingly lots of room in the bell tent for all of us. Great location - intimate with only a few tents and in a very quite location - our routine involved popping into wadebridge for breakfast before the kids were up and then going to the beach (can recommend the Shack in Wadebridge for their veggie breakfast and decent coffee). In the evening, we would light the BBQ and have a pleasant meal outdoors. There is a large fire pit which was very social in the night time - a few glasses of wine, kids can roast marshmallows and pleasant company from the other campers (and the resident very friendly cat). One evening, we brought the BBQ to the fire pit also and that worked well. You can easily access the Camel Trail down a quite country lane so the more adventurous could cycle to Padstow / Bodmin if you bring your own bikes - otherwise, rent them in WadeBridge and park at the very back of Liddl) Staff and Avril the owner very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended - better than some expensive overseas holidays we have had. With good weather bring your surfboard / bodyboards and relax!!!!

Just got back from a week's glamping at Lowarth and to sum up the trip in one word- fantastic. The Lotus tents are great- lots of space, everything you could possibly need, and of course already setup for you. The facilities were clean and always available too.

The location of the site means you can get to a good chunk of Cornwall in under half an hour, including Padstow and the Eden project. The local pub (the Quarryman) is walkable in less than 5 minutes too, and well worth a visit (or 4 in our case...) Make sure that you spend at least one evening around the communal fire pit- a great way to make new friends and share tips and experiences of Cornwall.

All in all a very well run site, and great value too. I honestly can't think of a negative point about Lowarth at all, and that comes from someone not normally persuaded to camp. Thoroughly, thoroughly recommended.

I stayed here for a week at the end of August and had a really great time. The belle tents were lovely (see the website for details and pictures) and Avril the owner and the site team were so friendly and welcoming.

On of the best selling points for this campsite is its location though: it is only a few minutes drive from padstow and it is situated on a quiet country lane just off the a39 which meant it was a good base for exploring the whole county from. The campsite was very quiet with no road noise, but afforded great views across the camel and out to sea. You can also walk to the camel trail from here: we did one evening to watch the sun set over the river which was just spectacular. There is also a lovely little pub just a 5 minute stroll away - the food was so good that we ended up going there 3 times in the week!

The site itself is small but immaculate. As well as the tents being spotless and beautifully decorated, the new toilet and shower block was the best I have ever used at a campsite. Warm showers always "on tap". There is also a fire pit (away from the tents) where we gathered with the other campers to share a glass of wine and share stories of what we had been up that day.

I rarely write reviews for trip advisor - only when I have been really impressed. Avril provides beautiful, friendly, peaceful glamping at a really good value rate - I'd definitely recommend booking for when they open next season!

I like to be precise when reviewing places we have been. I feel generally giving fives for every thing is a cop out. As we were one of the first couples at the site thing s were still changing around us and so it would be unfair to dissuade you by giving a lower rating because something was not complete. Bare in mind this is posh camping not a hotel it was absolutely lovely well worth a visit. Everything you could think of was provided bottle openers to a 12tog duvet if it became a bit chilly
The tents are impressive and the location spot on if on a bike make sure your brakes work because dropping down on to the Camel is very steep... very very steep and you don't want to get wet. Check out the website for more details on the tents. Shower block had two separate showers we never had to wait. 4 loos and a sink area to wash dishes. The quarry man I would come here just for the food there and order the cataplana every night. I if your heading to Cornwall seriously consider this place.
