We spent two nights in August 2012, and returned for two nights in August 2013. It's an attractive, comfortable, family-friendly country inn in a beautiful location in the shadow of Cannon Mountain, and Mts. Lincoln and Lafayette. Loads of activities on site and in the area, for adults and for children. In good weather, there's a beautiful, swimmable stream in back, along with a regular pool adjacent to the inn; there's bicycling, badminton, horseback riding, and of course hiking and XC and downhill skiing. In bad weather, there are plenty of table games, darts, and other ways to keep everyone happy. Decor and furnishings are a bit worn, but comfortable and fully appropriate for such a facility. Rooms are clean. The Inn serves a full breakfast and dinner. Food in the dining room was substantially better this year than last, and service was attentive and very good. Don't eat there if you're in a hurry: it's a country inn, not Holiday Inn Express. Downstairs lounge is rustic and comfortable, though service in it was sparse.

Room Tip: Roadway is very noisy during the day, so if you need daytime naps, get a room facing the back. Othe...

We booked this inn last minute after deciding to "staycation" for a few days and enjoy the area attractions. We were more than pleasantly surprised. In comparison to other properties in this town we realize we couldn't have chosen a more lovely spot. Bear in mind the rooms here offer no televisions however none are needed. This is the PERFECT place to get away and truly unwind. The food offerings were out of this world. We chose the B&B package and each morning the breakfast did not disappoint. We ate at the pub on our fist night after enjoying the grounds and found it too, was very good. We ate dinner in the formal dining room at the urging of another guest and are so glad we did- in fact we have every intention on travelling up again for the lamb alone. There is plenty to do on the property to include game room, library, pool and hot tub. On premise are riding stables, bicycles for borrow and gliders across the street. All in all we cannot wait to return.

Room Tip: We chose a King room as my husband is 6'2"- we saw other rooms on property and thought they...

Stayed two nights and enjoyed the central location to meet our needs for hiking to waterfalls.
Stayed in a room overlooking the road which was pretty noisey as was the a/c. We wound up using the fan which was more than adequate.

The bathroom was adequate but as I mentioned before, rustic. The knobs jiggled a bit! But, if you go in knowing it is rustic, you will not expect anything better! It was very clean and comfy. There is a pool and a back porch. Also a basement with a bar restaurant and vending machines along with a t.v room and some games.

We had one dinner in the dining room which was very good. We liked that we didn't have to leave the property for meals. The 2nd night we drove into Littleton for Chinese food.

The breakfast was good and plentiful. We enjoyed the simplicity of the yogurt and granola fruit dish! We also enjoyed reading in the lobby by the fireplace. All in all, it was a pleasant stay and we will go back because there are many more hikes to go on!

Our family of 6 stayed at the Inn last week and we loved it. The location was perfect, the staff was friendly and the Inn had such wonderful charm. The kids loved the pool and games downstairs, the food was good and the rooms were clean. We highly recommend this Inn.

My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Franconia Inn and were so pleased! We has a spacious room with a King bed, close to the screened in back porch. Our room looked over the back of the inn and we could see the horses grazing if we were in the room in the afternoon. The Inn itself does show its age at times, but if we wanted to stay in a fancy upscale hotel, we would have. The Inn is everything it should be, the room's A/C was just fine and there was an extra fan in the closet that we used as well on the nights it was cool enough to turn the A/C off. The breakfast every morning was EXCELLENT (pancakes, french toast and eggs benedict to be specific!). So filling, we routinely just had a small mid afternoon snack and then came back for dinner at the Inn as well! Dinner goes late so we typically reserved dinner at 7:30/8pm. We had dinner at the Inn 4 times, and each meal was very good, at times could be salty - but that's just part of not eating your own home-cooked food. All the staff were also very nice and helpful. In the room we found a nice big book of things to do, how to get there, what to expect, ect.. very helpful and helped us plan a rainy day. The bed was actually one of the most comfortable B&B beds I've slept on, and the bathroom was very clean. If I had to think of ONE thing I would change, I'd say they need to get some new lighting for the bathroom - the lights made the room SO HOT we hardly ever turned them on! The Inn is located about 10 minutes from some great attractions - the flume gorge, the basin, old man historic site, and Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway. Another 10 minutes south and you're in Lincoln where there is the visitor's center, Loon Mountain, Pemi Valley Moose Tours, and some yummy ice cream, not to mention you can get right on the Kancamagus Highway right from there! Next door is also a riding stable, and across the street is a small glider plane airport - never a bother with the noise, no worries there. The pool was also nice to relax in at night after an active day. I would love to come here again, but NH is so gorgeous we'll probably go explore another town next time!

Room Tip: The "spacious room" was fine for us, but not "spacious" in comparison to other p...

We only stayed 1 night here while we were passing through in order to visit Frost's place (which was right down the road). There was a comprehensive binder in the room that was loaded with neat information about the area and recommending things to do. The place was clean and the location was good. The restaurant was also pretty good. They have a neat lounge area in the basement near the pool to get a few drinks at. The pool was nice and heated. I would love to go back and stay a few days to check out the surrounding area.
