Very nice boardwalk along a natural gorge. lots of scenic photo ops. Recommend a backpack carrier if you are going to be bringing along small children.

After days of lovely sunshine it rained on the day of our visit to the FLUME GORGE - so while the roads streamed with water, the river had still to respond to the downpour - so perhaps best time to visit is late spring when the water will be higher and yet the leaves will be fresh and green. Despite this, this is an enjoyable place to be in the FALL as the top stretch above the Gorge ihas several easy walking trails once you have negotiated the steps and (Slippery when wet) boardwalks above the Table rock waterfall and the avalanche falls. THIS site is NOT suitable for whheelchairs and children in buggies need to be able to walk up the several flights of steps.. The information centre is a good place for the less able visitors to get to know about the site there is a film and also there is a us route to top part of the trail but the middle gorge is not easily reached. The cost of 15 dollars (£10 GB is almost as steep as the path is in places - In UK one can find many wooded valleys with waterfall in the English Lake District with free access. but then they don't have covered bridges nor the same kind of FALL foliage except in stands of birch and where chestnut trees change to gold.in September.

I went here with two girlfriends and 9 kids. It was amazing. The kids were in awe of the beauty of the whole area. There is a lot of walking to do and many of the paths are narrow so you can't always stop to get pictures of every area. If you are unable to walk for long distances then this would probably be to difficult for you but if not then put on a good pair of sneakers and be prepared to be wowed by nature.

I went there while on a camping trip in September and it was everything I had hoped for and more. The trails were clean and well marked and it was just beautiful.
