This hotel truly welcomed our two dogs, not just tolerated them.
The weight limit is reasonable, unlike some places.
No unreasonable deposit was required.
We are going back there in September even though other hotels would be more convenient geographically.

Coming from Exeter center, it is hard to see the hotel until you are there.
Stay in the right hand lane.

We've stayed in plenty of Hamptons and Hilton Gardens but have never before seen a Hampton this nice. It has only been open a year and a half so it still has that new clean feel to it. What was so different was the ideal room layouts and the beautiful contemporary decor! The insulation/sound proofing was excellent as we could not hear anyone through the walls or in the hallway; so it made for good restful sleep the 2 nights we were there.
The people who operate this location are definitely the nicest & most helpful we have ever come across at a hotel. Our car broke down on the interstate thus we ended up at this hotel through a difficulty. The staff were not only helpful as I mentioned above but they were caring and definitely were looking out for us. We were most appreciative that they offer a shuttle for local drop-offs at this location.
When we head to that part of the USA again we will definitely choose this hotel to stay at~whether for passing through or as a destination.

Got an excellent deal with HHonors points and couldn't have been more impressed. The hotel was lovely with a very pleasant lobby and spotless rooms. Only complaint was that the pool was very cold when we were there...you needed to keep moving to avoid near hypothermia. Breakfast was fine...the usual at this type of hotel. Will stay here again.

I travel every week for work and just happened to have a contract this summer in Exeter. I had recently changed from Intercontinental brands to the Hilton change and frequently stay at the Hampton Inn where ever I work. For this 2 week stay I had a King suite on the 4th floor at the end of the hall and a 2 Queen suite next to the elevator all on the 4th floor. The first week in the King suite was excellent. I'm a light sleep and any hall noises will wake me up. The only noise in the King suite was the loud refrigerator. Apparently Hampton has a contract with the company that supplies these as the last Hampton Inn had the same brand. Otherwise the room was very large with a nice work station and couch area with a TV mounted where it could swivel and be seen from the couch. The 2nd room was not as nice. The noise from the adjoining room and the elevator interfered with my sleep. Also the couch sitting area was situated where I could not see the TV while sitting there. I hate to watch TV from bed if I don't have to so I spent most of my weekend sitting in a rather uncomfortable office chair. The room was very large just a strange triangular shape. The bath area was very nice. The included breakfast was the standard excellent Hampton breakfast. The pool and hot tub was adequate and their was a washer and dryer on the 2nd floor. The King bed was very comfortable and the queens were OK. The staff from the housekeepers to the front desk were very amicable and made me feel at home. Location was perfect for me as the Hospital where I was working was right there and the pharmacy and supermarket were also close. All in all an above average hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the end of the hall as the insulation in the walls seems a little thin.

We recently arrived to the Exeter hotel late Friday. It was warm and sunny - being so close to the beach it was a neessity to get into the water. The front desk staff graciously checked us in and provided directions to the Hampton Beach. Upon our return, she (wish I remembered her name) inquired if we were able to find our way and if I had dared to get in the water. Laughing - I pointed to my feet and lower pant leg. No only is the staff friendly - each person we came across greeted us - wished us a pleasant day/stay/inquired if any was needed.
The king sized room was wonderful - nice to see a large shower instead of a tub. The pool area and whirlpool were fine - a little loud due to the children's hockey tournament overflow and the guests staying onsite.
The warm cookies in the afternoon were a treat just to smell coming in after a long day.
Breakfast provided something for everyone. Appreciated the hard boiled eggs...My only issue with the breakfast buffet was not from the hotel - a young guest (likely around 10) was helping himself to danishes not using the tongs provided. The staff member attending did not see as she was working to refill the stations. Pawing through half the display to find your preference is not appealing to others. I passed on the danishes. Possibly a sign that children must be accompanied by an adult would avert this issue. The facility provided serving utensils and tongs at each station - in fact it was one of the best places I have seen with such a set up.

The double sided fireplace in the the lobby looked out over the breakfast/lounge area. The coffee bar was well set up, always neat and clean. Multiple choices for tea drinkers and hot chocholate also.

A personal preference is firmer pillows. I brought a folded blanket from the car to raise the pillows. Even two sank deeply. The mattress was very comfortable - especially considering we have a tempur-pedic at home and usually have issues with travel and bad backs.

We came for a weekend class and now look forward to returning and plan to stay again. It was thoroughly enjoyable stay.!!!!

I highly recommend it - some noise from a room facing the road but the view and lighting of 2 windows in a corner room more than make up for it.

Loved fridge and micrwave in room - fridge a little noisy. Could be that unit. Not enough to keep you up at night.

In walking distance great Mexican "Marguerita's". Well worth the wait - if you want to sit in bar - will get seated and served faster. My spouse does not care for Mexican at all - he was willing to go back there during our stay !!!

Room Tip: Corner room on front - great natural light. Noise from front not bad if your on the 4th floor.

stayed in a 2 queen suite. room was immaculately clean. i'm very picky about soft mattress (ie i hate it). beds here actually have quality mattresses. staff was friendly. breakfast spread was well laid out. had everything. nothing was "out of stock". lots of seating. i deliberately try to stay at a hampton inn when available. would say this hampton inn is top 1% of all hampton inns.
swimming pool -- as other reviewers pointed out was a little small -- but big enough to soak in and cool down. didn't try fitness room but there was one. there was a whirlpool. all in all, very nice. only negative was location was in the middle of town -- just outside. certainly walkable in nice weather -- ie 5 minutes. walgreens and dunkin donuts right next door. very big and nice stop and shop supermarket 2 minute drive away.

I stayed at this new Hampton Inn in November 2011 and commented in my Trip Advisor review that the exercise room, albeit well equipped, had the cardio equipment too close to the TV wall and therefore when on the machines you could not watch the TV. Well, happy to say "they" listened!! I was there again this past week and the equipment had been moved back far enough to make it enjoyable to watch TV while exercising. Now, if "they" could get the fitness room door lock to recognize the time change, all will be well : ) Great rooms and good pricing........ be back in 6 months.
