This was our second visit to The Inn By The Bandstand, but our first visit with the new owners. Our suite on the third floor was beautiful, warm & inviting. We had a lovely view of the village of Exeter & we enjoyed watching the town wake up & start the day. Both Jaime & Agustino were the perfect hosts, attentive to our needs which were few - they had thought of everything to make our stay so enjoyable. We will definitely visit The Inn every year for a truly wonderful & romantic getaway!

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful, but we love the two on the third floor for their views of the village.

We were given this trip as a thank you gift, so had no expectations to start. From the first contact, Jaime worked to ensure we would have the best stay possible. From directing us to places to enjoy on our trip up to Exeter, to the best sites and restaurants in the area, we were able to relax and enjoy every moment of our stay. The inn was immaculate, homey, and provided fabulous breakfasts including delicious waffles with piles of fresh fruit. Kimmie brought me "real" English black tea, delicious! We had lovely conversation from the history of the inn to what brought us to Exeter, felt like we were staying with friends. Beautiful location to enjoy shopping local artists, sweet treats, and scrumptious cheeses. Enjoy downtown, but make the short trips to Newburyport and Portsmouth. Our favorite part, probably curling up with blankets on big leather wing-back chairs in front of the fire, doesn't get any better than this in New England! Can't wait to go back and try another themed decor!

Room Tip: Look at the site, each room has its own charm and themed decor. We stayed in the Heath Lodge, great...

My friend and I each took at room for one night at the Inn by the Bandstand, a georgeous Federalist in the center of Exeter NH. The Innkeeper started our wonderful experience by picking us up from our pleasant one hour Downeaster trainride from Boston. Both Jamie and Agostino could not have been more kind and helpful throughout our stay.

The Inn has 9 rooms which are being redecorated and improved one by one since it was acquired by the current owners last year. I was in the Windsor Room which was sumptuous, impeccable decorated, and incredibly clean - the linens were very high quality and so comfortable I could have stayed in bed all day - it was so quiet! The antique furnishings are stunning and high quality as well as the lovely artwork. We had a tour of the inn and saw many of the rooms and one was more breathtaking than the next. They even had two room suites large enough for a whole family!

Within a 5 minute walk or less, Exeter has several excellent restaurants and wonderful shops including a fantastic bookstore and chocolate specialty store (dipped strawberries!). Before dinner, we visited a wine and cheese shop right next door for a tasting.

Breakfast was made to order and absolutely wonderful. That morning we enjoyed french toast made with french bread with fresh fruit and crisp bacon, coffee, juice and freshly made smoothies prepared and served by the innkeepers. Just delightful!

I look forward to a return trip this spring!

We had a wonderful experience. The staff could not do enough for us. Room was totally awesome...We were upgraded next to our family on the 3rd floor. We watched the XMAS parade.
Location was down town. We walked to dinner. Breakfast was so good.

Room Tip: I don't remember a pool.

My husband and 7-month-old daughter stayed here over the weekend and we couldn't be happier. The two innkeepers are super sweet and attentive (without being intrusive - a delicate balance that they executed flawlessly), the inn was beautiful, and the room was immaculate and funky. We stayed in the Somerset Cottage room and enjoyed the working fireplace and cool exposed beams in the ceiling. There was plenty of room for all our luggage and a pack-n-play. In fact, Jaime, one of the innkeepers, said they had a packnplay if we wanted to use it, though I opted to take my own. (Shows their attention to detail though!)

One thing that struck my about this place - besides the amazing costumer service - was the beauty of the renovation that has just been completed. The inn still feels very much like an inn (gilded portraits on the walls, victorian furniture) but they also have added a touch of modernity, rusticism, and coziness to it that make it so much more visually appealing than the run-of-the-mill New England inn. Dark teal walls with beautiful walnut-stained furniture in the dining room, victorian pieces mixed with mid-century sidetables and portraits in the parlor, etc.

Also, the homemade breakfasts in the morning were delicious. Fluffy waffles with fruit, juice, and coffee one morning--frittata with fruit, juice, coffee, and toast the next. They even brought out some Cheerios and sliced bananas for our baby--and didn't mind when they ended up on the floor! :)

I hadn't thought of Exeter as a weekend-getaway destination until I found this inn via a Groupon but I now definitely recommend it. Lots of cute shops, restaurants, and cafes right outside the inn. Spent the afternoon shopping there. (Though bear in mind, most Exeter stores close on Sundays. No worries though - Portsmouth, York, and Newburyport are just a short drive away.)

Looking forward to going back once the weather is warmer and the outdoor garden is open!

Room Tip: Loved the Somerset room, which is in the front of the building (a little noisier than the rooms in t...

Stayed at this beautiful place this past weekend 12/28/13- 12/30/13. I didn't want to leave. Jamie and Kim were so nice. They made us feel so comfortable there. This was our first visit to a B&B. The rooms were absolutely beautiful. We were able to stay in 2 different rooms, the Devonshire suite and the Sommerset cottage. My husband and I loved both rooms. I loved the fireplace in the rooms and it was so nice with the cold nights to have it on. The furnishings in the rooms were beautiful. Thank you to Jamie for letting us stay in two different rooms. Thank you for the cookies that were in the room. The breakfast in the morning was so good. Pancakes one morning and eggs benedict the next. If you stay here you will not be disappointed. When we come back to visit family we will be staying here. My brother in law that owns a company will be recommending this inn for his clients to stay in. (Sorry hit swimming pool by accident at the bottom)

Room Tip: (Sorry It the swimming pool by accident). What ever room you choose will be beautiful and comfortab...

There are enough great properties around the New England area. But I am sure few can boast about such hospitality.

We felt totally welcomed by the hosts. They helped us with the luggage, shopping directions for Black Friday etc. The breakfast pancakes were excellent too.
