Great news! We received an email from Kevin Flynn, former owner of the Snowvillage Inn in Eaton, New Hampshire, saying that he and his partner, Jen Kovach, had repurchased the inn. We were so totally delighted that we booked four nights and five days, starting on Christmas day. We hadn’t been to the inn since Kevin had originally sold it, so it was a pleasure to return to this glorious location, with ever changing views of the White Mountains, including Mount Washington, in the distance. There are three main buildings of the Snowvillage Inn, and we decided to stay in the chimney house, where there are four separate well-decorated rooms with attached bathrooms and gas fireplaces, leading to a spacious common room with a comfortable couch, matching chairs and tables, a refrigerator, and a large, romantic fireplace. This outer room is perfect for all our family activities. Each day, after we either downhill or cross country ski, we sit in this room, painting our watercolor or acrylic creations, organizing our materials for home-made rag dolls, or simply reading, talking, or checking our IPhones. Finally, in addition to the beauty of the rooms and the views, Kevin’s kitchen is truly superb. Each breakfast starts with fresh muffins followed by egg specialities, french toast, or pancakes. However, the greatest epicurean delight was the gourmet meal we enjoyed on our third evening at the inn. My plank-prepared salmon was the best I have ever tasted. Kevin is certainly fortunate to have found such an excellent and creative chef. In summary, the Snowvillage Inn is certainly the best inn our family has stayed at. It gives you that remote feeling of discovery, yet it is located only six miles from North Conway. Welcome back, Kevin!
We enjoyed a night in the Chimney House. Very comfortable with space to sit at a table and enjoy the gas fireplace. The room was one of 4 off a central sitting room, which would be great for a family reunion or friends traveling together. The owners were awesome, friendly and personable, and Kevin enjoys manning the bar while Jennifer works the office and has her own soap company. Her homemade soaps were a special edition to our stay. We loved Chef Brian's menu. He never fails to please. The location is off the beaten path which for us is a perfect spot to be. Close enough to Conway and North Conway to drive (10 min.) and enjoy the hustle and bustle but easy to get away from it all. We'll be back!
My family and I celebrated Thanksgiving 2012 at the Snowvillage Inn. The dinner was excellent! The plate was loaded with turkey, potatos, sweet potatos, stuffing, cranberry sauce, squash, pearl onions and gravy. The decor is perfect of a mountain inn. We will be back!!!
Nice to see that the Snowvillage Inn is back in good hands.
If Brian can be convinced to try Trudi's French Silk Pie recipe,
it will be close to perfect. Mt Washington view is choice.
Great short but scenic hikes in the area:: Foss and Ossippee Mountains.
Cross country skiing and mountain bike routes abound.
We just came back from another absolutely wonderful stay at the Snowville Inn. I can't applaud Kevin and Jen enough for the wonderful service, food and atomosphere they provide at the Inn. Everything they do for you while you stay is done to perfection. I cannot praise them enough! The meals at the Inn are amazing and I highly suggest you try the potato leek soup and spaghetti carbonnara if they are available! My entire family looks forward to the next visit!
