This is the place to stop for lunch when in the Durham area. They make the soups fresh everyday and rotate the selections. They have 8 different soups daily, three of which are Doc in a Crock (chicken soup), chowder (clam and mussel, corn and shrimp, fish, New England clam) and creamy tomato. Others soups include: Sweet Potato, Chile and Lime, Spinach and Chicken, Curried Cashew, Cuban Black Bean, Spicy Chicken Tortilla, etc. Each soup comes with a slice of homemade bread.
Every day they offer a vegitarian, vegan and gluten free variety of soup.
They are open 11-7 Monday to Friday.
I have enjoyed the Minestrone and Sweet Potato, Chile and Lime. The owners who prepare the soups are on site every day and love to talk with you about their soups. The daily selections are available on the web at www.whatacrockhomemadesoups.com.
Treat yourself to a great lunch the next time you visit UNH.
