“Great food at ver reasonable prices”
Reviewed July 31, 2014

The owners Don and Maureen take the time and care to make everything from scratch. Their desserts are the best. Everything is is cooked well and is flavorful. If you appreciate good diner food without having to pay high prices, you have to try it!

“Great Experience! Can't Wait To Go Back Again!”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

We decided to try this new restaurant for lunch today and we were so impressed! We're planning to go back next week. Cherrybombs Diner is clean, modern and tastefully decorated with authentic vintage diner décor. The servers were attentive, professional and very friendly. Our food was quickly served & piping hot. The burger was loaded with fresh veggies on a hearty roll. The open faced Reuben is actually made with home made sliced corned beef, so tasty. The fries are generous. My mother in law had a diner classic of liver & onions, mashed potatoes & mixed vegetables. Yes, amazing presentation on the plate and even better tasting. The prices are very reasonable & the plates are full. Honestly, a flawless meal for 3! Cherrybombs in Dover is awesome.

“DOVER'S NEW DINER AT HOT ROD CITY”
Reviewed June 25, 2014

I happened upon Cherrybombs Diner, Dover’s new, authentic diner, by happenstance when returning from a daytrip to Maine via Route 101 and then taking the Oak Street cutoff. It's located in the former Dover National Guard Armory which was rehabbed and divided to accommodate five businesses so that it’s now a mini strip mall called Hot Rod City which held its official Grand Opening on May 31st. Ralph's House of Tone relocated from the congested downtown area and is next door.

Although it's attached to other businesses, the metal on the front of the building gives Cherrybombs Diner something of an old-fashioned diner car look.

Inside, the décor is that of a classic 1950’s-style diner complete with a black-and-white checkerboard floor, a lunch counter with several stools covered in red leather, a couple of tables, about six booths, poster-sized photos of James Dean and Marilyn Monroe on one wall, and numerous photos of Elvis Presley on the opposite wall. Other decorations include thoughtfully-arranged shelves with groupings of old-fashioned kitchenwares.

The co-owner and waitress both greeted me as soon as I entered. I took a booth in the middle of one wall.

I browsed the menu and asked about the day’s specials. The Daily Special Sandwich was the Smoked BBQ Turkey on Ciabatta that came with coleslaw and French fries for $8.95. It was about 10-minute wait for my meal.

The Smoked BBQ Turkey on Ciabatta was AWESOME. The turkey was smoked for 12 hours then broken into thick shred-like chunks and mixed with a sweet, tangy BBQ sauce. The ciabattas are made from the co-owner/chef’s own recipe and are home-baked fresh daily.

The homemade coleslaw had a light, milky dressing that had a hint of sweetness from pineapple. Since I do not like heavily-dressed coleslaw, this more lightly-dressed coleslaw really appealed to me. I thought it was excellent.

The French fries were done to a light golden color and had a delicate crispness. They were cooked just right. They were served piping hot.

I thoroughly enjoyed all three parts of this meal. One reason is that all the food is fresh; the other reason is that the food is well prepared by an experienced co-owner/chef who previously owned and operated the popular, successful, highly-regarded Café Ciabatta in Dover.

I highly recommend Cherrybombs Diner.
