We are regular take out customers here. The pizza is great. The atmosphere is family oriented and I notice lots of families patronize the establishment.

After Weeks Family Restaurant closed due to displacement for a highway project, a former chef opened Weeksie’s Pizza and Weeks Backstreet Kitchen, two restaurants that feature its recipes.

Weeksie’s Pizza is located just a block away from Upper Square of Downtown Dover. It’s conveniently located for someone to do some carb re-loading after finishing a run on the Dover Community Trail which runs along Chestnut Street just steps away from Weeksie's front door. It’s also adjacent to the Dover Transportation Center which is serviced by the Amtrak Downeaster and COAST Bus Line.

Weeksie's has its own good-sized parking lot. There is also ample on-street parking.

Inside, there is a lot of booth seating and a variety of table seating that includes conventional and high tables.

The place is always SPOTLESSLY CLEAN. The decor and atmosphere spell pizza parlor.

It's pretty much self-serve because most people take the pizza buffet.

There are a number of dining options. The all-you-can-eat Lunch Buffet is priced at $7.95 + tax and is offered from Monday to Friday from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The Dinner Buffet is $8.49 + tax and is offered only Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Always available are burgers at $6.99 - $9.99, salads at $4.99 - $7.99, fries starting at $2.99, roast beef, tuna, or turkey club sandwiches and broiled or fried chicken sandwiches all priced at $7.99, calzones from $4.99, plus wraps and small 5”” subs at $4.99 and 8” subs from $6.99. Pasta dishes are offered at $7.99. Chicken Parm is $8.99. Beverages include coffee, a wide variety of soda, craft beer, and wine.

And, if that wasn’t enough food, desserts include Turtle Cheesecake, Chocolate Fudge Layer Cake, and Peanut Butter Pie at $3.99 each, plus the Whoopie Pie, the ever-popular New England favorite, at $1.50.

For children under age 8, there is also a Kid’s Menu that includes Mac & Cheese, Chicken Tenders, Cheese Pizza, Pepperoni Pizza, and Grilled Cheese. All are budget-priced at $3.99 each.

My most-recent visit was for a 6 PM club meeting on Thursday. There were about 30 of us. Since the Pizza Dinner Buffet was available, most went with that. We paid $10.00 each to cover the buffet, soda, and a modest gratuity for allowing us to use the restaurant for our meeting. One couple that went there every Friday night ordered their usual Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza at $10.99 because it was not on the buffet.

Club members, myself included, like Weeksie’s pizza. It’s different. I like the fact that the signature crust is whole wheat. Gluten-free is also available. Weeksie’s claims their crust is New York-style, but the crust is a little thicker but not as thick as Chicago-style. I had slices of the Roasted Red Peppers Pizza, the Onion-Pepper-Sliced Tomato Pizza, and the Extra Cheese Pizza. All three were very good. Of the three, I liked the Roasted Red Peppers Pizza best because the peppers were slightly sweet.

I really liked the crust; and, it’s the crust that separates Weeksie’s Pizza from its competitors. The crust is NEVER WET OR SOGGY. It’s slightly crispy and firm so that it NEVER BENDS AND SPILLS TOPPING EVERYWHERE. TOPPINGS STAY PUT. That way, I get to enjoy the topping from first to last bites. It’s also pizza that I can even eat all of because the CRUST IS NEVER BURNT. Ditto for the cheese.

Weeksie’s Pizza stands out against the competition with innovative specialty pizza combination creations. The Cheese Fry Pizza was something to behold, but I did not sample it because of the calorie and fat content. It starts with nacho cheese topped with French fries and then covered with a three-cheese blend. The Taco Pizza mixes taco beef and a three-cheese blend that is topped off lettuce, tomatoes, onions, plus tortilla chips and is served with sour cream and salsa. To me, both seemed to be the perfect snacks for a house party to watch football, hockey, or March Madness basketball.

Like most pizza parlors, Weeksie’s offers home and business delivery.

I’ve eaten here before and will eat here again.

Stopped by for the luncheon buffet. Several types of pizza were offered, all looked delicious. Only two had meat on them, although the vegetable pizzas were tasty. The white pizza was bland at best. Salad bowl was fresh with 2 types of dressing. A nice dining room with plenty of seating . Staff was friendly and attentive. We will come back even though there are less expensive options!

We needed a late night after-movie dinner, and didn't want to spend a lot of time in a diner or eat fast food. Surprise, Weeksie's pizza! Friendly folks, very nice pie for a great price.
