After eating at Flight Coffee Co. Café, I walked through the archway and visited Baldface Books in the adjacent store space. This is the third location in Dover for the popular independent bookstore. On this latest relocation, it moved across Central Avenue from the opposite corner.
Although this space is considerably smaller than its last location, the store still has a wide variety of books and a good selection of vinyl records to browse.
Clyde Allen, the owner, is very knowledgeable and personable. He knows his business. He’s had the store for about 20 years. Amazon.com and e-books haven’t had much effect on his business. Book-lovers from near and far visit his store.
This newest location with a passageway to Flight Coffee Co. Café seems to be a really good arrangement. During my visit, I observed other folks coming through the archway from the café as well as through the bookstore’s own front door. As I’ve seen in other cities, books and coffee go well together.
I rate Baldface Books at 4.50. I recommend a visit.
