My husband and I recently decided to head North and check out the Stone Mtn. Arts Center for a show....and possibly stay in the area for some biking and hiking. To our surprise we found a cabin to rent within a few miles of the arts center. What a gem did we find!! Beautifully located in a private woodland setting, the cabin( really more of a little "home) was tastefully decorated with very cool artifacts from then and now.It is not an old camp by any means..vaulted ceilings, light and airy inside. It was clean as a whistle and I found it hard to believe they advertise it as "dog friendly"...as immaculate as it was.The kitchen was VERY well appointed so we were able to eat in several nights and enjoy dinner on the back deck. The beds were super comfortable with quality linens . Walking trails GALORE right out back...which took us over little bridges and streams..so very tranquil. The cabin is located in West Brownfield, just over the NH border line, and we biked for many miles before even encountering a car! It was just super. An added bonus was a washer and dryer on site. The owners live around the corner, maybe 1/2 mile away and were so very pleasant and accomodating upon check-in. We cannot wait to go back and experience the other seasons in Maine!
