“Older property, well maintained”

Nothing special about this motel, but nothing to complain about. Older building that looks like it has had some recent renovations. We booked 2 rooms, one smelled of overuse of febreeze. We could clearly hear conversations in next room, but luckily had very quiet neighbors. Friendly check in, free wifi, free breakfast in the lobby, which didn't really get off the ground until after 8 a.m., pancakes, muffins, yogurt, only room to seat 6, but very informally. Truly, no complaints for rate that we paid.

.This comes a little late but I was just looking at pictures from this past July 2013-when a group of about 30 of us stayed here at the lodge and i just wanted to say that it was a wonderful weekend-we canoed for hours, we cooked out on the grounds here-
we had a bit of a "reunion"of sorts-
the accommodations were nice and clean, the pool area was beautiful-plenty of sunshine & sparkling clear water- the continental breakfast was plentiful-thanks girls!!!
and the proprietors were the nicest people, so helpful, kind-hearted
and went out of their way to make us all feel welcome-we hope to go back again next year
Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

While there is nothing special or particularly outstanding about this motel itself, I did find the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

This is an older property and areas of my room particularly the bathroom showed it although I could see that some effort has been made to “spruce up” the place.

My room was somewhat comfortable although cramped. It did have a small microwave, fridge, desk and the free Wi-Fi worked well.

After checking in late in the evening although I knew about the early check out, I was disappointed when someone who I assumed to be a cleaner tried to enter my room before 10 am.

With only a few guest staying at the property this was very annoying.

Breakfast was included in the rate ($69 plus tax) and was surprisingly decent with a nice selection of items. However, you have to eat it in your room unless you do not mind standing in the check in area.

I did enjoy being able to sample an apple from the local area.

One plus, Saco River Motel is conveniently located within walking distance of “Saco Bound” a great company for trips on the Saco River.

We stopped there by chance in August. The place is nice, it is well-kept and family-run and you very much get more than what you pay for. We liked all the extras (proper breakfast, real pool and large picnic area with the possibility to use BBQs) and the nice exteriors. Although the rooms are fairly basic, they are clean and the road is quiet at night.
Conway is nice and North Conway offers a better shopping experience than similar places in the area.

Room Tip: try and ask for a room in the second row, which seems more quiet

We stayed here for one evening on the conclusion of our foilage tour through Vermont and New Hampshire. As previously noted from other reviews, this roadside motel is dated; however, we like charm and quaintness which often accompanies seasoned lodgings. Our room was very clean though the amount of furniture in the room made it seem a bit cramped at times. The bathroom was adequate and clean, the beds were very comfortable and bed bug free as much as I could detect. The checkout time is 10 am which was a bit rushed for us but we made it work. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable regarding area restaurants. At the advice of the desk clerk, we had dinner at the Muddy Moose in downtown Conway where the Haddock Fish and Chips as well as the Clam Chowder were first rate! Thanks!! The breakfast consisted of cereal, muffins, juice and coffee. By the time we made it to the office for what was left over, the pickings were slim. The muffins and coffee were about average for this type of facility. We used Trip Advisor to locate this place and were satisfied with our stay. One evening cost us $86. If you are a foodie and particular about your breakfasts, spend the extra $30 to go to a Days Inn where the breakfast selection is much larger and more rewarding. If you are simply looking for clean and comfortable room along your route through Conway, this may be the place for you.

This is a dated roadside motel charging hotel prices. We paid over $206 a night. Don't make the same mistake we did. Stay at the motels and hotels in North Conway instead. It's only 15 minutes away. You'll be able to choose from Marriott Residence Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Comfort Inn and many others.

Loud truck noises from the highway 302 woke us up from sleep. The shower curtain had pink mold on it. Bathroom door won't close. Wi-fi didn't work. No cell phone signal.

This is an old building, but well kept. A bit out of town, but only a few miles from major eateries. We were in room #2 and found the water took a long time to heat up. Road noise could be a problem for light sleepers, though it wasn't that bad. They have a 10 AM checkout which might be an issue if you like to sleep late. Other than that, we were satisfied and the place is a decent value for this area.
