After we got our key to this dank place, we went to our room, carting our luggage up to the third floor. We, however, could not get in to the room because the handle to the door was broke. We returned back down stairs with our luggage. When we arrived back ot the fron desk, with everything in tow, we were told "Oh yeah, that's right, that door is tricky," and that someone had attempted suicide in there, and the firemen had to break the door down. Nice way to start a stay. Why give us the room in the first place???
When we finally got into a room - it was filthy with an old gross smell. There was hair in the tub, and just utter filth everywhere, inside the room, and in the public areas of the place. This place is just nasty.

We were attracted to this place by its website which makes it look fresh modern and beautiful. Instead it is dark, dated and unattractive with appaling service (there appeared to be only 2 staff in the whole hotel for our entire stay).

Although the room was large it was essentially empty with too little furniture and not enough lighting (especially as one lamp wasn't working on our arrival due to a burnt out bulb!), the same was true of the bathroom which was enormous but just had acres of empty space.

We decided to eat in the hotel (don't be confused by the name it is not an inn in the traditional sense of the word) restuarant and waited ages for substandard food (the steak was tough and gristly and although ordered medium rare arrived well done). All in all it was an awful experience.

Breakfast the next day was no better, we had been informed at check in that our rate included a light breakfast, which turned out to be a few bagels and a toaster sitting unnatended in a small room off the main hall way. It looked so unappetizing that we left without sampling it.

Our stay at the Centennial Inn was not an experience we ever intend to repeat.
